Paupers’ allowance stolen in Morne Jaune

stolenOne man is in police custody in Delices following the alleged disappearance of monies in Morne Jaune over the weekend.

DNO was reliably informed by a source that the money was allocated for “paupers’ allowance” (Government Public Assistance Programme) and was to be distributed to the recipients in the south east of the island.

Another source told DNO that the amount is in the region of $20,000.

DNO is following this story and will publish more information as it becomes available.

Quite a few ppl have been doing this stealing and because they are high up in party they are left unpunished. Check the carib territory, all now a woman on so call bail for a similar incident. But that’s just a cover up. Cause who bailed her? Her same party ppl.

That is happening tool often and it is about time government find much more secure and appropriate way to deal with the issue. Right now is the poor and the elderly that is going to suffer in front of that Christmas season. Remove that line of responsibility form the hands of the village clerks and place it inter hands of the local credit unions.

This is an outrageous act, but it would appear that we are selective when it comes to certain crimes. we can be very indignant about certain wrongs but we can be also passive and partial to certain wrongs. let there be Justice for Mr. G.O.N Emanuel. it is now four years , AND Heaven is looking down.

This sort of crimes seems to take place every year, which bare the appearance and suspicion that there may have been assistant from inside. To avoid such wonton Robberies, issues those individual a debit card which upon receipt of their allowances can only be activated by the bearer`s individual pin number and may be their finger Print. Just want this ####it to stop. Detective still willing to assist my Country.

And yes if they are unable to travel short distance to collect, employ person to go to those elderly to assist them. Our hard earned tax money continues to fall in the wrong hands.??????????????? yes that too!!!!!!

Johnny what does monies meant for elderly folks have to do with red clinic or any other clinic? Are you tacitly supporting such behavior? I don’t know who you are but this shit has nothing to do with politics.
I once again call on the relevant authorities to update the laws of the land and put some real teeth in those laws. All acts of theft must be dealt with harshly but PUBLIC monies should carry extremely long jail sentences. AUTOMATIC remand at the state prison. No bail until your case comes up for hearing. Forget about time served. Real sentencing starts when a judge finds you guilty. Please double the sentence for accomplices (soutiweh) Si la pa ni soutiweh la pa tini voeh

The relevant authorities are not interested in changing any laws..haven’t u been living in Dominica? No jobs and red clinic is closed for the next 2 years so what did u expect? All year round u encouraging able bodied young men and women to seat on their behinds so they can come to see u every Wednesday for a lil allowance..when they need the money most red clinic closed. What are u really expecting them to do?

Johnny, you are a complete idiot. It is people like you that support theft. Politics making allu dayparlay. Think positive, you might just surprise yourself. A thief will steal anything, no matter how much money or wealth eh or she has, they are sick, so they will steal from anybody and anywhere. When I was a child people used to break and enter many business places in Roseau. What is your point?

Did u miss the part where I sid give him 10years?? Was referring the one who stoked…if he was gainfully employed earning a decent salary he would not have been engaged in that robbery…I can tell u are one of the labour sympathizers..government has created the environment of beggars and when red clinic isn’t around to disburse cash, they will go steal.. That’s my point..disadvantage of a welfare state,,increase crimes… If you are honest u would agree that crimes of that sort have increased 4folds under this labour government and that’s a fact..
