Pointe Michel man on forgery charge gets bail

Shanalson Charles of Point Michel has been released on a $48,000 bail bond after appearing at court on a charge of forgery.

According to the charge, read before Chief Magistrate Evelina Baptiste on Monday morning, Charles is have alleged to have applied to Rubber Stamps Plus to have an immigration stamp made without the authority of the immigration department.

The court was told that this allegedly occurred on January 17, 2012.

He was not required to plead – the charge is an indictable offense which will be heard before judge and jury at the high court.

The preliminary inquiry into the matter is set for July 2, 2012.
