Police Chief, Daniel Carbon, is alerting those involved in the drug trade that they are not safe from the long arms of the law.
He said the police force in Dominica will pursue drug dealers wherever they are.
“We will pursue them on the high seas, we will purse them on the seashore, we will pursue them in their houses and in their vehicles,” Carbon stated.
He described the illegal drug trade as “a great evil” which encompasses almost every single crime committed in society. “It breeds homicides, illegal gun trafficking, human smuggling, human trafficking, burglaries, theft, robberies,” he noted. “The drug trade is usually responsible for perpetuating those crimes.”
He had praises for the members of the force, especially the Drug Squad, who he said are active in combating the trade.
“Some of our out district police stations have been putting 110 percent in fighting this illegal drug trade,” Carbon said.
In recent weeks the police on the island have carried out operations which resulted in two major drug busts.
On July 12, 1,400 pounds of marijuana were seized in Stowe and on July 14, 30 kilos of cocaine were seized in Dos Dane.
Smoke weed everyday!!
Way to go Commissioner… You are doing well. And we appreciate you…
Great Job Chief Carbon! Drugs kill and destroy our youth. Please don’t worry about the negative talkers. Do your job! One less drug trafficker on the street is one more life saved. People of Dominica, please support law enforcement. Don’t worry about the those corrupted cops. They will see their day. Support the ones that are trying to do good or else you will be very, very sorry.
That is so sad on my lovely dominica.let us speek truth, how can drug stop when the drug dealers are all om bial? the man has the contact he can always start agian.now wat becoming of that drug when the dealers are on bail, because i know of a drug case where the guys are on bail for over 17 years now and that case never call the most of them have left dominica for years now, and to my knowing evidence canot be distroyed be fore a court case, so is this drug still at the station? lol, so stop trying to full dominicans.
The police will always help with the drug dealers because the amount of money they may get paid for this job is much more than their salaries, so you will always get them to do these things because the economy here is very high and their salaries cannot meet up to the expectations, so the best things they are doing in secrets is to help the drug dealers and get a good sum of money which will be able to help the expenses much better than their salary. Can’t blame them . The song sang . The price is too high to high, we cannot afford to buy,no foood ,no clothes and no money.
the economey isnt high.. the cost of living is high..just a correction.
mr carbon i am not saying that you are wrong u are doing you all job but start with your crew members first they are the ones telling the dealers when the crew are going out to search nd where so start with them first they want to build big house nd have big ride like them dealers let them pay the price too start with ur cops first
hope u start on those high in society first even in ur corrupt police force toooooooo
congrats to the police chief for such a short time as chief and have accomplished much more than y precedours who serve before you, you have put them to shame an thanks for drug enforcement fellow officers thank you again job well done
Blah Blah Blah
There are police officers who pretend to be working , like the one who was suspended, and is they that behind the drug dealers while he harassing people children.
Mr. Comissioner, your own policemen are the main perpetrators of justice. Clean your house first.
stupessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss…..allu not seeing what that in allu own eyes to persue….ohh plzzzzz….get lost
Fight the drug dealers on every front.
THEY ARE DOMINICA’S REAL CRIMINALS.
yeah well I’m not for drugs but as it is now the drug trade brings in more foreign exchange than the government and private sector business. when them boys go gwada is euros they making and they come back to d/ca and spend it if the can. they buy food, drinks and gas for their cars (all that is vat they paying). d/ca is a transit/transhipment point the drugs that come in are not consumed on island.
Mr. Carbon. Stop talking tough and start ACTING tough!
Now look it….I commend the drug squad for its recent successes however we not hearing anything about getting the papas…now besides that what about dem police officers aiding and abating?
You also need to go at the crooked cops who are allegedly involved.I have no problem with you pursuing those who are trafficking drugs. That’s a sign of good leadership. Wish the other areas of your work were like that.
I am no supporter of the police on many matters.I think just about 1% or2% of the entire force are genuine. I think that it is a failed institution on island, simply because too many of these men/women are puppets and slaves of the the government, and as such, they are totally blinkered and blind to do the state’s duty in an unbiased manner.
However as I have stated on this medium several times before, that I am totally and unalterably against drug trafficking by anyone, and the police, and the authorities NEED TO GET TOUGHER ON THOSE CRIMINALS KILLING,TRUNCATING AND DESTROYING OUR HUMAN RESOURCE. They need to be persued under their beds, in the streets, the dark alleys,on the hills, mountains and everywhere with all the resources available to the drug squad.
I have seen and I am still seeing the havoc that drugs have wrecked and is still wrecking with the lives of people and I hate it.It’s in our schools, our sidewalks, offices and everywhere.
AS A LEVEL HEADED DOMINICAN I APPLAUD THIS CALL FROM YOU MR CARBON.
Pawol en bouche.. Smh.
say pa met.
You’re war on drugs will have the same effect that the war on drugs has had the world over. A massive fail, overpopulated jails, many dead, more drugs, more guns, more illegal activity, less law and order.
WAIT AND SEE!!!!!
Ha Ha…You are funny Mr. Carbon…SMH!!!! Anyway good luck!
Stop quaking commissioner, all u not serious…follow d parro you’ll catch d retailer, retailer we’ll show u d papa or undercover operations might help…because things getting dangerously serious, it bad…
I always tend to think that way. Just follow the parro you must get the papa.
Due respect to you mr carbon, and i hope you will read this message. I am from the north and often visit your village vieille case, but if you are destroying drugs and want the dealers out of site, why is vieille case a breeding ground for drugs on the island. So many young people ask you for a joint or for weed when you walk dis village. Mr carbon charity begin at home the PM from vieille case the chief from vieille case, yet still drugs in vieille case like cabbage, Dno must take a drive up there to see what i am talking about.
You hit the nail on the head. They all know that a very young papa from Vieille Case,is in j
jail in Guadeloupe.
Did he say I will pursue them in the police stations, and in the police vans? The truth is while some are giving 110 some are actually dealing a 110%. So please Mr. Carbon target the ones in the same unit who alert the the dealers when the unit is on it’s way. And deal with the ones who have all the “whatever” on a police income, seriously the place is not so big If I know who they are, I think you know too.
Well said.
go Carbon go
just talk put action to your words deal with them
You all catch them alright! Well some of them anyway! And before we know it they’re out on the streets on bail! Gimme a break! Do some real work and learn how to prosecute! The same drugs you “confiscate” goes back out on the street anyway! Tired of the hypocrisy in this country! Stupes!
wow seriously, that’s news. You will be going after the drug DEALERS, ok then, lets see.
We all know the dealers, they are racking up multi million dollar assets and for years the force is putting very little pressure on them so I believe this is just hot air.
Mr. Commissioner, all well meaning Dominicans are in your corner. We salute you and wish you well. Unfortunately, your men need to come up to speed and earn the trust and confidence of the public again. A government owned firearm going missing from the Police Charge office.? Which civilian would be so darn stupid to even attempt to steal a firearm from the police Charge Office? It is inevitable that all fingers will point to police officers themselves. What about the fire at the coast guard base destroying a vital piece of evidence in a drug matter. What about “Jackall’s” and massive recent investments? Could that have happened on his legitimate income? Sir, we wish you all the best, but the job is tough. Who can you trust/
On the drug aspect, I am on his corner a million percent.Sorry not on several other matters. He needs to show that he is an independent commissioner.
Police Chief, Daniel Carbon, is alerting those involved in the drug trade that they are not safe from the long arms of the law.
He said the police force in Dominica will pursue drug dealers wherever they are.
“We will purse them on the high seas, we will purse them on the seashore, we will pursue them in their houses in their vehicles and iat Police Headquarters too,” Carbon stated.
Mr. Commissioner you sure not speaking about Mahaut when you speaking of districts. I swear their is not police station there cause Drug dealers are publicly know by even school children .
and how much of them same police are involve the same drug bust and trafficking 100 percent.
You better pursue them within the four walls of the Police Headqarters too.
Carbon please clean up the police force first, you all are going behind the pushers while all the big wigs walk free, the police force work with the drug dealers, who are you foolong.tired of the corruption thats plagueing my lovey home DOMINICA.
I have yet to see you Police people actually lock some people up for this cr@p. Intercepting them is one thing, making them pay is another story. Your officers only harass the little guy on the street because he’s trying to feed his family. I have been saying time and time again, the real thugs are not the little guy in the ghetto, the thugs are the ones bringing that cr@p into our communities, from outside. The little guy does not have resources to traffic drugs and guns from the airports and seaports. Stop all the smoke and mirrors!
how about, “we will pursue them in my very own police force first!”
Pot always calling kettle black…Mr Carbon need to pursue those within the police force FIRST!!
yeh yeh yeh Carbon!…Next!
Good motivating statements by the police chief.
Maybe inspired by Winston Churchill’s famous speech.
“we shall fight them on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills”
Go get them.
Well Sir you need to be alerting those officers around you involved in the drug trade that they are not safe from the long arms of the law too eh.
I don’t know but whatever it is the police are doing, is definitely working. The amount of drugs that have been stopped and seized is overwhelming. Now we just need to work on the court system to bring the culprits to justice.
great job mr Carbon, you know what next to do for me run an investigation into the police force and make examples of the policemen thats in the drug business with them drug dealers .
One thing, this crop of officers in drug squad really doing their work this time around. Good job guys! Get those demons off the street destroying the lives of our people
What’s there to persue if they are right there before your very eyes.
