Police investigate alleged burglary and motor vehicles theft

police investigation 2Police are carrying out investigations into an alleged burglary and the theft of motor vehicles, known as ‘taking conveyance.’

According to police PRO, Acting Inspector Pellam Jno Baptiste, one vehicle, a Toyota RAV 4 (registration number TL706), was stolen from Courtesy Car Rental on Monday, March 21 between 1:00 am and 5:00 pm, by individuals who abandoned it near the Massacre Primary School at Check Hall.

They then proceeded to cut the wire fencing of the Highway Auto Centre, also at Check Hall, broke into the office where they took keys to two motor vehicles, a Mitsubishi Pajero (registration number TJ167) and one grey Honda HRV (registration number TL706), belonging to Road Runner Rentals.

“A number of other items including a Lenovo laptop and a pair of eye glasses were also stolen,” Jno Baptiste said.

The Grey Honda HRV was recovered later the same day at Giraudel.

“TL706 and TJ962 are being processed by the Crime Scene Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department,” he noted.

Investigations are ongoing.

Anyone with information who can assist the police in the investigations can contact the Criminal Investigations Department at telephone numbers 266-5164, 266-5165 and 266-5119 or Crime Stoppers Dominica at telephone number 1-800-8477.

The thieves are abundant and way ahead of the police. All very rarely brought to justice and so it just continues and grows more rampant. There is a definite attitude problem with many DA males… the attitude of entitlement to other peoples’ property. Somebody didn’t raise these boys right or at all for that matter.

Please, bring back inspector Claude Weekes. Why did they have to replace him with a Dalek?

Hi Me, the guy you refer to as a Dalek, he is someone’s son, brother, uncle, husband and father. He is a former National Cricketer, a great composer and writer, the best drummer in DA, a police officer for almost 28 years, holds many awards for his work. He is a Dalek that has served his country honestly and with total commitment. Weekes had his time he has to move on and so you and others like you can never take Pellam down. He will continue to move up.. so says Jehovah. So stay where you are and eat your heart out. Like Weekes did, over time, Pellam will improve in time give the damn guy a break. You all acting like is money he getting for the work of PRO. Weekes replaced someone when he was appointed as PRO no one cried for the person he replaced, so now he is replaced and one day Pellam will be replaced move on. fool.

Police, it is important that you ensure you take fingerprints of the items. Some old/cold cases are solved and the perpetrators are brought to Court because of fingerprints and DNA.
The public assumes that the items were stolen. You keep on breaking and entering and stealing. You are heaping hot, burning coals on your head(s).
Some people will steal anything. They may be blind and cannot read without eyeglasses. Did you forget your eyeglasses at your home?
So who are they who would also steal a pair of eye glasses? Do you know the owner and staff? By stealing it you think the owner will be blind and not able to see and read?
Fool(s)! God has your number. He knows who you are. You cannot hide from him The day of punishment is coming for you. It is just a matter of time.

You are talking nonsense. No need to make an issue out of it. If you feel uncomfortable talking to the police, then call Crime Stoppers. It is as simple as that. This is why the Police has asked to call Crime Stoppers. You know you are not asked your name.

Why is the police asking to call crime stoppers. Police claims they had a guy under arrest In salisbury police station for alleged burglary and shooting, he escaped as they claim, since then persons are calling to tell the police where he is they yet to appear. So why call crime stoppers for any case ? If he escaped why didn’t it make news and why are they not looking for him.
