Police officer, others charged with theft

courtA police officer and two others have been charged with several counts of theft which occurred at Minya’s 7/11 in Pottersville.

Zenny Auguiste of Goodwill, together with Chanelle Walsh of Castle Comfort and Chad Bruney of Goodwill, appeared in court on Tuesday.

They were jointly charged for stealing from the establishment on July 27.

It is reported that they stole a number of items including oil, ketchup, Barcadi Rum, Pringles chips, among others amounting to $1,489.58.

Auguiste and Bruney allegedly struck again on July 30, this time stealing items such as cube cheese, chocolate, chicken salami, cheese curls, garlic among others amounting to $768.95.

On July 31, they were reportedly at it again, stealing items worth $594.31.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Bruney is also facing firearm related charges as 65 rounds of ammunition, 25 rounds of which were of 12 gauge calibre, were allegedly found in his possession at Green’s Lane, Goodwill, without a valid license.

He pleaded not guilty.

They were all on station bail when they appeared in court.

Their trials are set to begin on January 13, 2015.

Auguiste is represented by Peter Alleyne, Walsh by Darius Jones and Bruney by Wayne Norde.

All accused are expected to be on good behavior and to stay out of trouble while on bail.

Why it is that some news are deliberately left out of the public. What about the school principal that cannot account for the money and quickly resigned. Is that principal going to pay back the money. Why it is that the police was not brought in. Mr Police PRO can you look into the matter

It is a private school (government only pays the salaries of the teachers),so I guess it is being handled privately; that is, without getting the police involved. Remember the Vatican is a country within a country. So it is up to the parents to pursue this matter as it is their childrens’ fees etc that have gone missing. Then again, this has been handled so secretly that most of the parents have no idea.

    How sad and disappointing!

I know the cashier Chad and his family very well.

Now this is a young guy who approached this business place straight out of High school. He asked them for a part time job because he wanted to persue college education but was not financially able to do so. They came to his assistance, hired him and adjusted their schedule to accommodate him. They would put him to work morning shift if he had classes in the afternoon and vice versa. They would give him off on days of exams. They pretty much worked with him to allow him to pay his way through college and this is how he chose to repay them.

What is wrong with our people?

All the people who speak of salary increase for the officers, while I agree that their salaries should be increased, it is certainly not the reason why they choose to defy the law that they willfully pledged to uphold knowing full well what their salaries were going to be.

      August 7, 2014

A salary increase would be very excellent news for the Police and I agree whole heartedly with your comment and i beleive this Officer knew that his appointment to this Office that he was pledged to uphold the law.
I am wondering why and what is the reason for this act and as it is now in a court of law he is innocent until proven…………Here it is we have a Police Officer enlisted, satisfied training, and working and an allegation has been made against him.God please help this young man because u are the one with the ultimate power.
Let the Judges/judge do their duty with this in mind that they too were once young and made mistakes and we should all learn from this mistakes especially when given a second opportunity.

This has nothing to do with the Prime Minister. When someone is employed whether or not they are paid by Tom or Harry they should have moral values. This means see and don’t touch. So getting rid of the PM is not the issue. Blame the person who did the crime. Not everything that has to do with the PM. Do these cops have a conscience? It surely wasn’t the PM putting a gun to their heads encouraging them to do such foolishness causing an embarrassment for the rest of the Police force.

I am recommending that the police force go back years gone by and allow for proper recruitment of police officers. We have seen that since their names are just placed on the list without the proper checks and qualifications it is now becoming an embarrassment. This is too often now…..in one word this is utter-rubbish.

There was a police officer from the south, he stole a bottle of rum at HHV Witchurch a few years ago, he was dismissed from the force only up find out that because of his family connection with this government he is back in the police force, so when the PM is calling some people dishonest he needs to take a good look at the police force and their recruiting style, this police force need a good cleanup from captain to cook

As quoted above, when a police officer involves in stealing such petty stuff we see in the quote above, that is a indication that life is very difficult in our country; these people are hungry people, everything listed are basically the mere necessities of life, except the alcohol unless we are dealing with alcoholics.

People are not compelled to indulge in alcoholic beverages, nevertheless, food is a necessity. Why would a police officer steal such petty things. One wonders how much are these people paid, if someone is unable to survive on their paid salary as a police officer, what is the point of entering into such service. That leads me to focus on some police officer which has left the force to become politician, and within months of been elected they build houses valued at more than a million dollars.

How can this be, one man is a working police officer, steals I imagine to survive, yet X-police are able to own million dollar house; something is wrong. We know that people in the civil service cannot survived on the pittance they are paid by the government, they work for starvation salary, we discover that when the teacher did not have four hundred dollars to pay for an X-ray after a beating he suffered at the hands of a student, from which he sustained injuries to his head.

Any wonder the police in our country are involved in so many crimes?

Sometimes people do not steal because they are in need. They still because they can get away with it. Tell that to the famous celebrity in the US who has millions yet she stills. My mother survived on less because he worked for herself and fed her kids. They can too. People have to learn not to live above their means so that there is sufficient for other things. You can take a donkey to the ravin but you can’t force it to drink. If they were thieves before becoming a cop they will always be thieves unless they repent from their ways.
