The police are searching for two men in relation to a shooting incident in Newtown which left one man dead.
Telford Kerry Ursan George, 27, of Stockfarm was shot and killed in what appears to be a drive-by shooting which took place on July 4, 2018, at around 10:15 am.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, Simon Edwards, George was “shot twice by a pillion rider on a motor scooter which was traveling south on the Newtown public road.”
“George received a gunshot wound to his right thigh and one to his waist,” he stated.
Edwards said at the time he was standing close to a bus parked on the western side of the Newtown public road.
He was transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Princess Margaret Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
“The police are in search of two male individuals involved in the incident,” Edwards stated.
Anyone with information on the matter should contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 266 5157, 266 5119 or Police Headquarters using the Emergency number 911, he said.
Dominica is a country with such a small population, it is shameful that people are shooting each other,
We should be getting on like one big family and helping each other.
Very regrettably, the government must make it clear that they are ready to revisit the option of capital punishment to halt this stupidity.

I have always wondered how the “other person” becomes involved in these sorts crimes.
Someone mentioned it may have to do with some girl that they were involved with. I don’t know if that is true. But if a friend confides in me that he wants to do a drive by and he wants me to be the driver, the first thing out of my mouth would be “Are you crazy?”.
First I would try to discourage him from doing it, but failing that, he is on his own. There is no way I would put my freedom in jeopardy for someone doing something so dumb, particularly in a small place like Dominica, in broad day light. This is the height of stupidity.

There names were published and their pictures go look for them and call the police if you know where they are hiding we all know they are hiding now but where lets get them and bring them back on the seen where the crime took place.so every one can see them.

This really doesnt make sense. The suspects could pasz right through my community and we the residnts ould have no idea. This has happened b4 and the suspect was found in our communit.
Police of Dominica your practice of not releasing names and photos of suspects is wrong. You cannot and should not jeopardize the public safety by protecting criminals. If you don’t want to call them suspects call them persons of interest. Dominica police force we are in 2018 get out of the 1901 system.
Because it was two persons on a scooter. So, think before you speak. They are looking for two male that was on a bike. If they had names and knew the persons, they would have been arrested already. SMH

How are persons supposed to assist not knowing who you are looking for? Is there a law in a Dominica that allows police to ask for assistance but prevent them from releasing names and photos? I keep seeing a plea for help on such cases which are useless without a sketch or something. Can someone please enlighten or educate me on this matter?

The police have not yet identified who the 2 individuals are, therefore there are no names or photos to provide. Witnesses have informed the police that the shooting was done by the pillion rider of a motor cycle. This implies that there was another person involved in the shooting (the rider of the motor cycle). The police are investigating the identity of the currently unidentified killers. The police are looking for two males but have not disclosed any details. That means they know whom they are looking for and are not requesting any public assistance. I think they know what they are . Lets wait.
