Police seize 70 kilos of cocaine

Three Dominicans and one Colombian have been taken into custody following a major drug bust by the police.

The police report that 70 kilos of alleged cocaine were seized in the bust.

According to the police, the illegal substance was confiscated several miles off the coast of Dominica on Monday morning.

The three Dominicans and the Colombian were taken into custody and are assisting with investigations.

One open keel boat powered by two 200 horse power engines were also seized, according to the police.

Drug trafficking is one of the most serious crimes and yet we never hear of these people being sent to jail for 12 years. How can we be serious when we have people selling drugs, making big profits and then making them pay a fine. And is dam time that we start making these drug cases go to the high court and not magistrates court. STOP !!!!!!!!!!!!! These crimes are serious serious crimes which are dealt with very seriously in other parts of the world.

They will never learn a lesson. Criminals that they are, they keep transporting drugs to the island.
Deport the Colombians immediately. Do not waste the Court’s time and money. When they are deported, ensure that their government/ immigration is aware of what they did. They are criminals and should be dealt with in their land of birth.

Thank you. “Alledged cocaine” sounds so dumb.

  22. December 10, 2012

the value of the drugs should be their bail .then when they go to court and they are found guilty they should be sent that same amount in jail

  23. bring them out
    December 10, 2012

DNO you should get the pics and the names so the public can know them drug dealers that messing up our kids…when positive people in the country make a mistake, we always quick 2 put their names and get pics of them on facebook for people to know them but them drug dealers is time we start exposing them

Good Job and congrats to the police officer who risk their lives and that of their families to rid the island of this drug malice.

Notwithstanding the efforts of the police, they are still being criticised and bashed as was the case this morning on QFM radio. The police had to disable a vehicle trying to escape with seven keys of cocaine and instead of congratulating the men on duty, the entire police force were being bashed on radio.

Yes guys of the police force you place yourselves at great risks and that of your families to protect the rest of us. All we can do is to provide all the necessary support and strongly condem what went on QFM radio this morning.

    • Justice and Truth

man the amount of problems this drugs causing in this country,i would take the Dominicans, and i would leave the colombian on the boat with the coke and a big hole in the center of the boat, then jail the Dominicans for a long time.

      December 10, 2012

I agree with you why waste court time, as you and I know nothing is being done with the durgs dealers on the island when it is all said and done, what we get from the court is a slap in our faces

I am not ashamed to say that my family member was a paro, no one knows how it feels seeing your family in the condition he was, only who feels it knows it, this is no something I am wishing for any family to experience

Something drastically need to happen, we talking about Paros, them bastard are the reasons, concern about their pockets and wealth and give a rat behind about the people being affected, the parents, brothers, sisters, the kids etc

Nothing is being done when it comes to seizing the houses, bus, bikes, boats etc

The pains and cries of all those affected will surely come back to hunt the dealers, their children and their generations to come

    • "O" STRESS"
      December 10, 2012

Hell no Dominican and Columbian all should be left on the boat with a few holes in their head. I maintained that the war on drugs and drug dealears who ever or where ever they come from has just started. Dominicans! lete heed to the call and report all suspicious activities of any kind, cause if we dont, they will come for our Law enforcers in the day, but! they will surely come for us later.Remember those so called bad guys will shoot their way to freedom when they are cornered by our Law men and woman. Remember you read it here on D.n.o.the worst is yet to come therfore lets iradicate all those who seek to poision our children and their future for they are going to become our drug head of the furture. smfh’.

      December 10, 2012

mmmmm…I wonder if the substance must be tested before it is confirmed that it is in FACT cocaine!!!…just wondering….Go figure…sigh!!

      • hmm
        December 11, 2012

um….well in that case it would be…’is allegedly cocaine’…not alleged cocaine.

      • !
        December 11, 2012

yes it should be tested but alleged cocaine does not sound correct. At least it could have been worded that way, ‘alleged to be cocaine or believe to be cocaine.’ Doesn’t that sound better?

The justice system in Dominica is too slack when it comes to drugs and drug dealers until them the drugs dealer/traffickers will continue trafficking drugs on the island

Allow the Spanish national into Dominica was a big mistake, I just hope that this Colombian is not a member of the Colombian Drug Lords/Drug Cartel and Pedro Oliveiro Guerrero, aka “Cuchillo.”Guerrero, and El Loco who gained control of drug routes over Colombia’s eastern plains, which opened access to Venezuela, the Caribbean and Brazil’s Amazon region.

    What else can I say
