Police have charged a businessman from Portsmouth, Nichodemus Francis, with possession and intent to supply 24 kilos of cocaine.
Francis, also known as Forche, is owner of JX Car Rental in the second town.
The drug has a street value of $640,800.
The illegal substance was discovered during a drug bust by Drug Squad on Monday June 23 at Tan Tan.
During the operation, Nissan pathfinder registration number TC565 was seized.
Nichodemus is expected to appear before a Magistrate shortly.
Hello and good morning my people. Well what will it take to keep this man in jail because this is the second time he’s been arrest for possession of cocaine. We’ll suppose you are visiting home and you rent a vehicle from him but unknowing to you he stash a few kilos of cocaine underneath the back seat. This man shouldn’t be in the car rental business because I surely won’t rent from him. I guess he’s car rental business isn’t profitable so he has to in the drug business .
Grant him bail and allow him to travel. We need magistrates and judges from other countries to up-hold the laws in Dominica. I have no respect for our law enforcement people in this country called Dominica. Tax payers should rise up against such corruption in our court system. These magistrates and judges are below low.
“Whatch out my children
whatch out mychildren
it have a man call lucifer wit a bag ah white powder
an he aint come to powder u face
but to bring
Shame and disgrace
to de human race”
This song needs to be sung in all schools
what else was seized please disclose to the public or else the public will speak.
You don’t know? DPP was seized….seized up I hear because they can not find a transport to take their documents from Independence street to the court on the Bayfront. What happened to walking? is 10 minutes at most and healthy exercise.
Skerro call elections I fed up!
Labour power that is doing all the good work that’s why he is caught today.labour powerrr! !! Labour working labourer! ! Ka twavayy! !!that is change that is change!!! 5 more years.
It is a sad period in the history of Dominica, when the majority of Dominicans do not have confidence in the police and the court system.
is he the same nicodemus in the bible?
This case is not going any where, our police officers in the drug unit do not, and cannot investigate these people. No drugs was found on JX,. The reason why all the big drug cases are going down the drain is due to lack of surveillance, and the fact that the police force including the the drug unit is filled with corrupt cops. JX sue them when you case is over and laugh them all the way to the bank.
What happens when literally a whole file of documents for a court case goes missing and can’t be found? Case dismissed! Allegedly, there has been no dearth of curious cases in our system where files have mysteriously disappeared. This one will be interesting.
It appears they cannot be trusted if files go missing and a murder case is dismissed. This is sheer negligence. It should never have occurred.
What should be done, as is done in stores in Canada and other countries. There should be a detector or a trusted security member to detect and search them at the end of their shift if they have any big packages, when they are leaving the premises.
You see how vague the information is, if he was charged where is he at the moment? is he remanded or is he at home waiting for his day in court. Is heat stockfarm the public has a right to know.Watch and you will see that one is not going anywhere because of connections trust me in high places.
MMMMMMM but wait nuh on what grounds do they have to hold mista down for that nuh,,,
Because the vehicle is registered in his name or what???
Garçon well look how tings happen yeh,,,
Is funny how “They” operate yeh, once “They” turn against you that’s it yeh, check another scene and move out of “Their” way cause “They” not gonna stop until “They” get what “They” want,,,
But “they” will get what’s coming to “them” look and “you” will see
DNO why did you take so long before putting out this news?
Too many young people is Possie go PARO for too long this is happening . Wait and see if anything is going happen he will walk straight out of court .Remember there is no law no constitution .and is not your damn business where I get my money
A ‘leader’ who wins the smallest constituency becomes the -.-.
Just one more reason why
I am not surprised but his case will be thrown out by the DPP Office… already some of the drugs might soon disappear… … is only laugh I laughing
All those invoved in illegal activities who build their MANSIONS of powder and power your day will come just as his came. 99 days for you and 1 for the watchman.
This is uncalled for and does not relate to the article.
Wasn’t he the one a very ,very very top notch New DLP was at his celebration of his first million $-made party when it was staged as his 50th birthday party @ 60? lol!
What does that have to do with anything?wasn’t Ronnie Isidore a candidate of the uwp and now on the dip team? What does that have to do with anything.
wrong person you talking about mi amor
Stop blaming labour
I didn’t know it snowed in Dominica! LOL so sad.
Labour Ka TwaVay
Well, dont be surprise the DPP will come to court and state that they do not have enough evidence to convict. The regular story in DA’s DPP and court system. Hopeless..
That’s just the thing.THEY DON’T!!!!
My take on this one is, the same as those in high places who’ve been caught with the same white powder before. It will just fade away, languishing in the corrupt court system till we hear no more of it. But if it was one of the Rastamen or any poor individual, he would be paying heavy fines and confined in jail. Such is reality in our country.
People afraid to comment on this one or DNO playing chicken?
This is an interesting one! Let’s see if the testicular fortitude exists for this one to take the course of justice.
Watching keenly.
I will talk, JX Francis is not spending a day in jail.
Wat u mean by that?
Others not going jail why is he alone that should go?
Testicular fortitude indeed…
They say, “The chicken always comes home to roost.” ‘Tis the natural order of things. Nous ka vwe.
DPF is desperate. Stop making up stories. All u after him for years and never succeeded. Stop the foolishness!!
So the drugs was not found or if it was is a plant, is that what u saying?
Because something is in your vicinity does not mean it is yours. Note that they never say exactly where they get the drugs besides saying it was found in Tan Tan … The said that ” During the operation, Nissan pathfinder registration number TC565 was seized” but they have not clearly stated if it was found in the vehicle. Which part of Tan tan was it found…by the bridge? on the road side? By the bay? In the vehicle?…to much loop holes…they need to come with the right story. And DNO you edited my first comment…let the truth be known… DPF Desperate… And them people that rejoicing… i hope none of all u ever stretch all u hand out for help from him..
Not because they didn’t say where it was found in the news does not mean it wasn’t found in the car or on him. MAYBE (JUST MAYBE) they know and don’t wish to tell the public…
@ anonymous
But they should. Why are they hiding it?
That is disgraceful but he is very close to political power so nothing will happen to him.
A know Laborite for many years
its sad that these are the same people we think are positive role models in our community. Then when our sons/daughters go crazy they pass on the road asking what happen to them as if they don’t know what happened…shame!
drugs drugs drugs….. why are their so many people in the drug trade???????.. and thats just who we know. what about those we aint know.. what about all what that in vieille case. why so many drug dealers in vieille case…… WHY?????. every young boy in vieille case has a vehicle. and no cheap vehicles. vehicles bigger than them. so we need to take a stand and investigate the bigger heads of the business. TIME FOR THIS TO GET STRAIGHTEN UP
I’m from Vieille Case and I not seeing them vehicles there. You all must stop hating on Vieille Case people
talk they want to talk. that if you know where vcase located or if you know the people who live there
Shut up your mouth there. Jalou u jalou vcase people. why u stretch on vieille case? Stop hating on vieille case people eh.
Who for allu to investigate allu doe never investigate. leave vcase alone eh!
Technicality!!!!
Dno is the value of the drug in us $ or in ec? It appears like weed cost more than this drug, from what We have seen of previous reports on drug bust. Please clarify.
i thought so to
nobody said that life would be easy. sometimes in life when you try to make a living under systematic pressures, you endup falling in the same hands of the system which is worst than the initial problem itself. however at the end of the day the leaders only care for themselves and probably if the country was rather doing something to boost the economy then business men would be able to sustain their businesses legally rather than forcing them illegally…. REMEMBER PLEASE DONT SAY MUCH… WE ALL LIVE THE LIFE. DESPERATE TIMES CALLS FOR DESPERATE MEASURES.
How did businessmen survive in those days when illegal drugs were unheard of? Those today could do likewise and keep their names out of scandals and from the Media. It pays to have a clean slat, a good reputation.
Then they looking at people with an addiction problem and call them PARO… If he is responsible, take him to the cleaners and jail him..
Finally that’s all i am going to say.
Oh oh ! Forche
Let’s see how this one works out.
Now you all will understand why certain interests do not want that U.S. coast guard base at the Cabrits and why the police station at Capucin was closed. Go on, tell me I’m wrong!
@JoJo – Can someone please tell us why the Coast Guard base for the Cabrits area that the Americans provided the money for and for which there was a ground-breaking ceremony is yet to start in terms of construction? So long man. What’s really going on in dis country dere nuh?
Anyone? DNO? Where are the investigative journalists and dem?
Trying to take power maybe to get this construction going and to reopen the police station
You have to ask Skerrit that. He is the one who said thank you to the U.S. Ambassador and gave him two bottles of Bwa Banday in return with the appropriate remarks.
Don’t forget not only money they give us but also two fully equiped fast boats that are sitting on the dockside at Woodbridge Bay. Well I’m waiting for that new radar in Guadeloupe next year when the gendarmes will catch them right there in mid channel.
The first and only one, self or people proclaimed/appointed investigative journalist. The new Party leader in opposition Con Ed’s nominated & hand Picked ) UWP’s LL, talk show,TV host What About Marpin, Q95 Between Me & Us newspaper columnist/critic alias Starlight.
500 jobs in 3 yrs .Lets see.
Very good question that. After Lennox stop his between you &me show we have no more journalists investigating. Matt just passing birthday wishes and playing soft music. Only Angelo that is not afraid again.
It’s good that the police force is removing all these illegal substances from our streets. Cocaine is a problem because wherever it is found it brings a lot of crimes with it…that being said I am wondering why it is taking so much time for the police department to deal with the NOISE POLLUTION that is causing so much stress on the Law abiding citizens of our land? Just wondering if cocaine is the only problem.
Just give police officers work to do and after give them bad name, low salaries and not thinking of how many days they have to stay away from their families to protect a population. One police officer doing the job of 3 men. You have to be in it to feel it!!
