Cheznelle Robinson of Roseau was slapped with a charge of deception when she appeared before Chief Magistrate Candia Carrette- George at a Roseau Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

According to information revealed in court, Robinson dishonestly obtained $1,000 from the Healthy Wellness Living Centre with the intention of permanently depriving the Healthy Wellness Living Center of that amount.

Court documents also indicated that the incident occurred on February 11, 2015.

,She was not required to plea since the charge is an indictable one.

Robinson was bailed in the sum of $5,000 with her mother Margaret Sorhaindo as surety.

She is being represented by Attorney-at-Law Wayne Norde.

Robinson is expected to return to court on July 31, 2015.

I have to say this is a very shameful thing DNO has just done. This woman is a private citizen. Also, she has not been found guilty. It seems to me they published this article out of spite because Cheznelle is very popular and they wished to damage her reputation. It is quite reprehensible and I hope she sues. Dominica is becoming a place where a national news outlet will take someone’s personal issues and turn it into a news story. It is disgusting. I don’t know her personally but if you can do this to one u can do this to all and this needs to stop. So many more important issues to be discussed and aren’t being covered. According to Asa IS ME YOU DOE FRAID. Do some real journalism for a change and stop using ppl children mistakes for those advertising dollars. This is just lazy work. Y’all can do better

To the one named “Tony” who keeps defending the young lady in his posts. I hope you are being paid for your representation my dear. If so, it would probably serve you better to save your effort for the courtroom instead of taking precious time scanning through comments on a local news website. If, however, you are not legally representing the young lady, how do you know the facts of the case? The voracity with which you are disputing the allegations would suggest that you are somewhat informed. If you are not “in the know”, it may serve you better to remain silent rather than take it upon yourself to defend a situation that may or may not involve multiple infractions of the law. ;-)

Its obvious the article doesn’t tell the full story or circumstances under which the event occurred. Clearly this was not theft because its not an indictable charge.

Also the article does not state that the person was convicted of a crime but that they were charged with an offense… which is why there is a court date to settle the matter between the accused and the business in question.

DNO should not be reporting such things because the young woman has not been convicted or found guilty. They are in fact based on how the article is written accusing and convicting and unlawfully posting pictures of the person before they are convicted of a crime. This is grounds for a lawsuit because she was not arrested and is not guilty.

As a Police Officer of the United States , she is lucky that she is not in the law of the United States. for the young adults in Dominica it is all about material products and not something educational. Do not put any politics in this because this young girl had a mind of her own.

Our society appears to have become ever more shallow over the last decade or so where instant gratification is king and morals are for wimps. A society that knows the price of everything but the value of nothing and laughs at ethics.. I don’t want to sound like a religious zealot because that has its own dangers but we should take more time to reflect on the real values of life because materialism alone can never bring lasting satisfaction.

The moral of the story is simple..If you cannot afford it forget about it.. Marlie Boo is the same thing. These young girls have no real value. Material things are temporary. Seek things that are more meaningful to life. There are many more young girls out there doing the same thing. It is just a matter of time.

Hello and good afternoon my people. Well I don’t know this young lady and I have never heard of the Healthy Wellness Living Center but I can assume that its a business. I am concerned about the charges lodge against this young lady and how our Criminal Justice System works. Now did she write a Cheque and she didn’t have the funds to cover the Cheque or is she an employee and she falsefiy her time sheet . According to the article the offense is an Indictable offense therefore she didn’t have to enter a plea but if she appear in Court where she was arraigned . She should have to enter a plea of Not Guilty or Guilty and if she enter a not guilty plea then the prosecutor have to go to the Jury to seek an Indictment or True Bill. How can a defendant be arraigned and not have to enter a plea but then release on Bail. I think this case is damaging this young lady reputation and its not going anywhere because it will be dismiss.

Materialistic pleasures are only for a short time. Ruining your character will forever have a negative impact on your life. What about jobs, your parents, your future, most importantly yourself? Is it worth it? Everyone posting here might not be for you but sometimes you should really take advice and criticism to build yourself and be the best YOU, not for people but for yourself.

I am not supporting what the young lady did..It was dead wrong, but Dominicans, you guys are too quick to rejoice over someone’s downfall…The fact that to see someone down is exciting to yall is disgusting .. Then the Pm will be blamed for everything that happens in the country but what you fail to realize is that we are the ones dragging the country down because we are too busy wishing to see our neighbor fall … :-|

Hello and good afternoon my people. First I must say that am not on Facebook and I will never go on Facebook. Now the article clearly say the photo is from her public profile on Facebook therefore she must have been at some function where she took the photo. She didn’t appear in Court displaying her I Phone 5 and her designer jewelry so it has nothing to do with the allegation/Charges against her.

A certain talk show will be one caller less while certain people get over their shame. Moral of the story: Be careful what you say about and to people..What goes around comes around and who live in glass house dont throw stones. Let this be a lesson to all. Rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn.

It is just amazing how you guys want to come on here and tell bloggers how to comment. You call bloggers self-righteous and give advice on what to do instead of as you say ‘cheer when people fail’ but where is your advice to the young lady to clean up her act and learn from her latest mistake. Your comment is no different from bloggers commenting on the issue at hand. Point is she did wrong so stop trying to turn a blind eye to the issue at hand. Oh by the way if she is someone you know I hope that you tried helping to build her up before this latest. SMH

        To Words.

Hello and good afternoon my people. I agree withe the first part of your post but I disagree with the second part in which you said she did wrong. It’s an allegation that said she dishonestly obtained a thousand dollars which mean she allegedly committed fraud. Fraud is a difficult charge to prove a specially against someone who don’t have any pass criminal history. I don’t know the young lady but we must be fair and keep an open mind because it’s only an allegation by the Complainant to the Police.

I didn’t know a party decides whether you deceive others or not?!?! Educate me….. train up a child in the way that he should grow so when he gets old he will not depart from it!!! But then again we teach our children to the best of our ability and they still make dumb decisions. It’s a good thing my mother taught me to be satisfied with what I have. But still…. encourage her and if she has true friends, stand by her and support her. pray for the youth of dominica especially the young ladies pray for our country and STOP PUTTING POLITICS IN EVER THING!!!!! GO BACK TO THE PRAYING COUNTRY THAT WE ONCE WERE. WE ARE LETTING POLITICS AND GREED CLOUD OUR MINDS.
