Sexual offenses dominate May assizes

lawThe May Criminal Assizes will open at the Roseau High Court on May 14, 2014, just two weeks after the close of the January assizes.

Thirty-three matters have already been listed on the Courts Cause list with those charged for sexually offenses leading the list with 15.

Among the sexual matters are incest, buggery, indecent assault, unlawful sexual intercourse and unlawful sexual connection.

On the list are also six cases concerning wounding/causing grievous bodily, two for causing death by dangerous driving, one for theft/burglary and one money laundering. These matters are yet to be indicted.

DPP Evalina Baptiste along with state attorneys, Fernlia Felix and Sherma Dyrample, are expected to prosecute on the behalf of the state.

Justice Bernie Stephenson is expected to preside over the assizes.

So with so many SEXUAL OFFENSES when will it be seen as a necessity to post names and pictures of those CONVICTED of those acts to prevent repeat incidents.

So with all of those sexual offense cases they still think that it is not right to post names and pictures of those CONVICTED of those crimes to further prevent repeat incidents by those committing the acts.

Something have to be done with these sex offenders it is way out of hand. First offense jail, second offense castration, and then they will control themselves.
