Esther Belleau, of Silver Lake, was granted bail in the sum of $60,000 after she was arrested and charged for possession of ammunition, alleged cocaine, cannabis and prohibited weapons.
She appeared before a Roseau Magistrate Court on Thursday in relations to a number of high-powered weapons and drugs found in the community recently.
According to reports from Police Public Relations Office (PRO), Acting Inspector Pellam Jno Baptiste, on Wednesday 9th, March 2016 investigations were concluded which resulted in the charges being preferred against Belleau.
As part of bail conditions she was asked to report to the Police Headquarters twice a week and asked not to commit offenses.
Belleau is being represented by Attorney-at-Law, Kondwani Williams.
On Saturday, February 20, 2016, police seized 24 rounds of 40-calibre ammunition, 30 rounds of 9-mm ammunition, one AK-47 magazine, one Uzi Submachine magazine and three 9-mm magazines, along with a large quantity of cocaine and marijuana locked in a public convenience at Silver Lake.
Belleau is said to be the Chairperson of the Silver Lake Development Committee.
Get all the people who carry guns and drugs off the street for good. Lock them up in jail for a long …………………………………………………..time. They are the one destroying the country and bring curse upon the nation.
Judicial review, Kondwani, we need a judicial review
Why only $60, 000.00 bail? Why not no bail? Are you going to investigate where the bail money came from? She was arrested and charged for possession of ammunition, alleged cocaine, cannabis and prohibited weapons. Did she make bail with the proceeds of the drugs sales? Are there any bodies on the guns found?
$60,000.00! we can pay many teachers on that amount. bring them in I say, bring them in. good contact place and rum shops
Why they are giving so many bails for these crimes and them, thats why i love my GRENADA smh
give me a break what that woman doing with all that guns. you all well know is not her own it just has to be pinned on someone. you all have no case it was found in a public convenience hear the name public so any body could have gone and hide it inside there.
But what de lady doing with that nuh?
Now, you the 60,000.00 bail money and FIX DE SIDEWALKS.
Take the 60,000 and fix the place.
Well that development committee needs protection pa.
Lord lend a hand in this land.
No work, no opportunity, no chance of survival in DA. Gov-we-ment get by on bail and passport money. More weapons and drugs they seize is more bail money they make. Corrupt all around.
And hear them and their children crying on Matt the other day about how police come there with guns and how it not good for their children. Awa wee, hypocrisy, killing our country….
Well,well,well.
Dominica is truly corrupt.
much,much more to be exposed.
This is only the beginning.
We are going to see those who are being looked up to as the great and mighty come tumbling down.
God is sick of it.
wow that’s a sad day for/in Dominica!
The Dominica Police are to be commended for their ongoing success in the war against drugs. Some drugs that enter Dominica are apt to reach the streets of American or Canadian cities so we are happy to see them being confiscated.
Again we see marijuana being sold along with cocaine
showing it is part and parcel of the drug trade. People who will sell marijuana will sell illegal guns because they are people with criminal minds who don’t care about the wellbeing of others. They are driven by the desire for financial gain.
I have met people who had been addicted and some who once sold drugs who heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and were saved by the grace of God. Their lives were transformed by the power of God.
It is no secret what God can do.
What He has done for others He will do for you.
Please get your Bible and read:
Isaiah 53:5,6.
Ephesians 2:9,10.
1 John 5:11,12.
Revelation 3:20.
Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.
You are following the same bible that has been rewritten countless times to opress black people. You yourself need to stop being deaf dumb n blind.
The guns are a decoy watch further. Why do they give up the guns because the gun is not the real thing, its only there rusting and cannot sell so get rid of them. A chairperson wee, the verb but Pelham is the subject.so now you can look for the object
Boom!
guns boi em coce amd weed boi jesus plz take control
Only stiff punishment will slow down all this illegal activity . Do like Singapore ! Zero tolerance ! Otherwise we will get to an uncontrollable point ! TGhat bail amount is a joke !!
She is not convicted but her name could be called, unlike others arrested and charged, granted bail but their names cannot be called. I know that no one is ging to hear of that case again, “case closed”
I totally agree with you BEB. Dominicans open all you eyes and stop all you nonsense hypocrites. Guns, weed, cocaine all you looking for God but the sexual abuse of our girls and boys all you keeping it on the down low. Chooopssstan.
Idiots like you don’t read and understand and search for knowledge. The laws of Dominica prohibits “their” names to be called.
totally agree
BEB I would assume that you see a genuine injustice taking place with this matter but please do some simple research. You could even read the article posted here on Dno just a few days ago which explained why names cannot be publicized in certain matters. Now you have a few options to deal with your perceived injustice, first you could start a movement to petition the government to amend the sexual offenses act of 1998 so as to allow the perpetrators name to be published. Second option would be to petition the government to update the laws so that no one who is charged but not yet convicted should have their name published. Until then please do not turn every situation into one where it is us vs them or rich vs poor. Let’s make it criminals vs us. Let’s unite to build the country that we desire so that we can live happy and productive lives on the nature isle
Well, well, well, that sounds like the fox in charge of the fowl house. I hope it is not the same lady that make so much noise to Matt about police searching that community.

here is a link of her photo from a previous dno article for those wondering who she is
Who she take the fall for?
Isn’t Ester the chair person of the silver lake development committee? https://dominicanewsonline.com/news/homepage/news/economy-development/new-housing-project-for-silver-lake/
Bail?? Bail?? I sometimes wonder how safe are we in this country
Bail buys time to intimidate witnesses and reorganise the “development” of Silver Lake.
If the lady is the Chair person of the Silver Lake Development committee, which is a de facto mayor or prime Minister of Silver Lake, then it appears that she was just in the process of setting up her local defense force. Have they arrested the generals and the recruits?
Don’t tell me that an ordinary little lady has all those arms just for show.
Is she going
to resign?
Mrs Isis. Why these women can’t go and do something useful with their life. It is not to late to become educated. Fast money is problems. Be role model to your kids.
she is doing something useful. she is yet to be convicted yet she has already been judged.
Chairperson of the silverlake development committee……. Hmmmmmmmm…….. I guess the intention of those tools was to develop silverlake but the question is develop into what
Anyone needs any further proof that we are living in a failed society headed by a failed government?
And those funding the opposition falling? You just fed because of that!
Your brains failed you too lol because thats pure nonesense. You blame the gvt for everything that happens fool.
Pass me di rifle, with the banana clip….
the initiative is to open a range in that community, look at it as an opportunity to broaden one’s skills for army recruitment or if they want law enforcement….but on a serious not, what all them guns for inquiring minds wanna be on guard
