Three men charged and remanded in alleged kidnapping case

The alleged kidnappers from left: Alexander, Beaupierre, Bedminister
Three men said to have been assisting the police in an alleged kidnapping case were taken to court on Monday after being formally arrested and charged.
They appeared before a Roseau Magistrate where the charges were read and bail denied.
Jan Bedminster, Kimon Beaupierre and Dilon Alexander were charged with “unlawfully and forcefully kidnapping” Deon Hakim Alfred and Leon “Dopie” Joseph on March 10th, 2012.
Joseph and Alfred were reported missing on March 11th, 2012 by their relatives.
According to the police both men were last seen around 9pm on March 10th, 2012.
Police prosecutor Inspector Claude Weeks in objecting to bail told the court, “it is the prosecution’s contention that the defendants if granted bail could interfere with the ongoing investigations as there are other persons of interest being sought in connection with the kidnapping offense.”
Weekes also informed the Court that one of the defendants Jan Bedminster, who was charged with the kidnapping offense breached his bail conditions for a previous offense and should not be granted bail.
The magistrate in the end denied bail and remanded the accused men.
The case was heard before Chief Magiatrate Evalina Baptiste and the preliminary investigation is expected to begin in July.
The whereabouts of the men who were allegedly kidnapped remain unknown.

But these three (3) young men are pawns. The Father said he was in the wrong place at the wrong time but imagine a grown up person whom you know and can be your mother and who lives in the neigbouring community comes and ask you to call somone for them. anyone could find themselves in this dificulty. And also the media says that the kidnapping was done in Yampiece. This three (3) boys are from Tarish Pit and the incidents happenned in 2 different area – One boy was picked up in Tarish and the other at Yampiece at Gun point.
You asking well I’ll answer yes I am from the area! and not giving you hearesay stories. Look at the missing pics of the boys and you will see the time when the younger one was last seen after 6.00 pm early enough for those guys to be out pull up and they called him for the individual.
And the other boy was abducted in Yampiece another part of the Community after 9.00 pm.
At the hearing the truth will come out.
Notice I only spoke about the 3 young men and I did not mention about the alledged abducters. Well the truth will manifest itself in due time. Everyone in the area knows who are the persons involved in the real crime and also the police.

Unno what… This all boils back down to the legal system…If they were doing their jobs then I do not think that the public would have to stir up a penalty themselves…I think it’s about time we punish people who do these crimes… I understand why the guys were abducted. When I left home sereral years ago, our young men were looking finnnnee. the young men now look desperate and unapproacable but it appears the young girls are attracted to these type of me. The irony of that is although they getting the young girls dem, they do whatever it takes to get to the prison (I wonder why). the last census indicates that currently in d/ca there is 1000 more males than female i guess the males are trying to even things out. It is sad, what has become of our men? we need some kind of intervention to help them and curb this trend. By the way cudos to the DPF for the timely apprehension of theses men, now the next tast is to find the alleged kidnapped victims. My fingers are crossed. God help us

“Preliminary investigations expected to begin in July.” Nothing was stated about the whereabouts of the kidnapped individuals. Where are they? What happened? Are they alive? This report is half

This is what I am saying DNO, I am not blaming anybody but what I am saying is, in the report there was nothing mentioned about whether or not the individuals who were kidnapped had been found. What would have been expected is, whether or not the persona in custody gave any clues or information on the whereabouts of victims, or is there any progress being made? Having arrested the three, I hoped that the whereabouts of the men would be known or that they were found alive. I hope that they are alive. May God help them.
As for those three who were arrested, it is not unusual that perpetrators pretend that they are innocent and help the Police to search for their victims and even try to convince the Police that they are innocent and will swear until death that they are innocent, lying their way to eternity and straight into the devil’s cauldron of everlasting fire.
Their lawyer(s) tried to have them released on bail. I suppose that this is only a formality. How could they be released when they are accused of kidnapping two people and also that they are not found? Does it make sense that they should be released? One was out on bail and he violated the bail conditions. They must remain in prison until the case is called. No release! No parole for them! Keep in mind that two lives are affected.
Dominicans should assist the Police to search for those men. They may have been placed in the bush.
If you want more info, truth and Justice, I can give it to you. It is just a bad time for the victim at this time. It is like the “Enemy’ wants to steal and kill. Yes he was out on bail and see what happenned. No foresight did not see that a simple errand from a Grown person in the other part of the community would put him back in that kind of trouble. I would attribute ‘universal’ to worldwide. The word should be ‘national’. There is a difference between those two words. Whoever commenced calling it ‘universal’ is wrong.
It is not enough to comment on Websites or in the newspapers. You should write your MP or the PM. Only they could initiate changes, if they will listen and pay heed.
Pertaining to the young girls not attending school and going out with the boys/men, in the end they will pay for it. They have a good opportunity of a few years to attend school and they are blowing them away for the easy life. When poverty strikes and prevails, they always blame the government and not themselves. People are responsible for themselves. If they turn to crime it will be their fault. If caught, they will have to pay the price.
I know the last line in the article says that the whereabout of the alleged victims is unknown, but man this is Dominica. Two guys taken at gun point into vehicles are driven away and its been nearly 10 days now they eh show up, is there not little doubt as to their outcome?
One of them allegedly got stabbed in his neck and no emergency room in Dominica attended to him, what all you think happen to him? Dominica too small man, if them man was alive they would have been spotted already.

Keep hoping and pray that they are alive. The day will come when they realize how much they wasted their God-give precious allotted lives. When people are evil, they do not have a good end. They will not even age gracefully. You just have to look at their faces and you will know what type of life they lived even though you will only be able to assume the lives they lived. Worst yet, consider when they die and meet God for their judgment. To their detriment, there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Let us hope that the primary perpetrators did not fly to the U.K. U.S. or Canada with a Visa. posing as law-abiding nationals and inform immigration officer that they are only visiting. They could hide there forever without immigration being aware of it.
