Tire of Dr. Sam Christian slashed in Pointe Michel

Dr. Christian said the tire was slashed on Monday

A tire of local medical practitioner, Dr. Sam Christian, was slashed in Pointe Michel between Monday afternoon and early evening.

According to Dr. Christian, he parked his vehicle at the seawall near Bolo’s Bar and went walking in neighborhoods in the community.

“Along with like-minded friends, we visited the sick and stopped to talk with citizens at shops, bars and along the roadside,” he explained. “We discussed hurricane reconstruction, how together we could improve our community, and better the lives of everyone.”

He said upon his return he noticed what took place.

“At first sight, my mechanic exclaimed ‘Someone slashed your tire!'” he stated.

Dr. Christian said a report has been made to Pointe Michel police and the matter is being investigated.

This is not the first time that Dr. Christian’s vehicle has been vandalized.

In March 2017, his vehicle’s windows were broken and tires flattened outside his office on Bath Road.

No valuables were taken from it.

Back then he said the incident was one of many in a “battle of attrition trying to wear me down.”

Dr. Christian recently opened a clinic in Pointe Michel.

He drove the car to that location,so it is possible that someone did that or maybe not,but some people support wrong doing and some make light of it until it hits home.

Hello and good evening my people. Well Dr Christian it seems that someone don’t want you in Dominica because you are an educated person or you are engaging in some type of political issue that they don’t like. So please leave Dominica and join us in New York where you can open your madical practice .

Sam, are you for real? Looking at that cut on the tire, there is no justification that this tire was slashed by anyone. Stop your political ploy and blame people. Stop giving Dominicans bad name. Your bawl head tire exploded. The police should charge you for driving with such unsafe tires.

Kid On The Block, I find you have a distorted view of reality due to your blind, hyper-partisan politics. In trying to justify wrong, you instinctively fabricate. You have zero credibility left. It’s really sad that you use your God-given intelligence to stoutly defend absurdities and wrongs and to denigrate, disparage, and eviscerate those who speak truth to power. If I were on a beach and Mr. Skerrit was drowning, I would risk my life to save him for I have nothing personally against him. As a politician, my conscience refuses to allow me to support his ineptitude, his dictatorial tendencies, his politics of hyper-partisanship, his blatant inadequacies, his supercilious behavior and attitude, his uncouth diatribe, his inability to clearly articulate a vision for the country, and his abominable failure to bring out the best in his fellow citizens. The man is a catastrophic disaster with a propensity to play ‘loosey goosey’ with the truth. Dominica needs a new Sheriff in Roseau.

Skeritt says he wants to have university graduate in every home, affordable housing for Dominicans, improved medical services, proper care for tbe elderly and improve infrastructure. These statements are are supported by the actions of government in construction of a new hospital, construction of a new state college, the establishment of the yes we care program, repair and construction of roads bridges and schools, ongoing construction of 5 star hotels and monthly allowance to elderly persons who did not qualify for social security. This is not propaganda, these are things that are happening or has happened. So Politician Ibo France, based on what I have stated could you design a vision statement and make it available to Skeritt, as he seems to be too busy implementing his vision. Your idiotic political propaganda is getting from worse to desperate.

Anon as you said, Skerrit SAYS. The problem is that 98.5% of what Skerrit SAYS are lies. New hospital… Where?? Repair and construction of roads and bridges. Where?? And don’t come and tell me about the new bridge in Roseau which was a total waste of money. New 5* hotel you tell us… Are you talking about that hotel where Skerrit gave the developer 15 acres of national park without asking the citizens. Are you talking about the same 5* hotel that is paid for by our passport money but does not even belong to Dominica.
Before the last election he also SAID he signed a contract with a Chinese company to build a international airport. You see your master SAYS alot when the day is long, problem is he never comes up with the goods!!

Smh. This alleged, acts being carried, on any one in society is unacceptable and efforts to arrest, the pepertrators, be implemented with a view to bring to justice, the would be suspects. Such acts of vigilante, so called justice has no place in Dominica, Regardless on whose sides one is on, Surfice to say, weather we agree, or disagree, with others, views, or their opinions, the last I checked we’re still a country of Laws and freedom of speech / expression. Today it’s one property, if allow to take hold, who knows what next? Can we all get along? And can we all agree to disagree without being disagreeable? What goes around comes around and karma is a ******! What affect one today, might affect the massive, tomorrow. In my opinion all law abiding Citizen, should condemn and call out who ever Responsible.

Sam, I been around motor vehicles since I was a boy in Wesley, my father and others owned many cars and trucks! I to own a few. I know when a Tire is deliberate cut!

That Tyre is not deliberately cut, your Tire is dry rot!

Hence, it is a natural rupture I have one right this minute on my 1956 Chevrolet Pick-up truck. The truck been sitting there for a long time not driven, hence the tires are decaying, and simply split open!

        June 28, 2018

Don’t ask me when last I been home: Things simply does not change in Dominica!

Dominica is the only place on the planet where time has stood still.

The last time I was there I saw people I know from when I was a child dressing in the same cloth; they look the same as they looked long before I left with their straw hat on their heads. It is as if they buy the same colors repeatedly.

Dominicans do not have any concept of the dangers of smooth, and old  dry-rot tyre, in Los Angeles one can be cited for driving a motor vehicle with smooth tyres.

Man eat Dog I have no need for your East Caribbean  paper dollars, nor the bit of trash your coins are made from; maybe if they were made out of led they would have some weight; the last time I returned from Dominica and Antigua. I made a mistake and brought back EC$700.00 dollars, and could not get them change not even in Las Vegas where they change anything

In a casino what I was offered could not feed me for a day, it’s a lucky thing I have friend from Grenada who is a manager of a certain bank in Los Angeles, she cashed them giving me a little over two hundred dollars; if I remember correctly US$259. 26 cents.

I doh know how to spend play money eh boy; that’s what you have in Dominica!

        Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!

I only spend America money these days eh. Dominica money doh value in my world, you and Roosevelt can take all put it in al-you deep pocket oui!

FET, the vehicle was stationary when the tire “failed”. I doubt it happened as a result of being dry rot.
I blew by the sidewall of the back tire on the highway last week. It was about 4 years old with very good tread. The rupture was a lot more jagged than that. That is not to say they all fail in the same manner, but that cut seems relatively clean.

      • Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque
        June 28, 2018

Zandloi, that is a blown out Tire (American) (Tyre ); however, we want to spell it. I am viewing a blown out  Tyre, and that happens all the time standing or rolling! If you want to know if that Tyre served its purpose long ago, take a quarter, (twenty-five cents) and place it horizontally in one of the grooves, if it stands halfway in the grove you are dealing with a good Tyre!

If more than half stands out of the groove that Tyre should be changed a long time ago! We are dealing with a dry-rotten Tyre (British). A tyer is not easily cut in that way, anybody who believes that an inflated or flat tyre is easily cut with a knife or cutlas try it and see what happens!

It will be punctured with a sharp object easy, cutting it the probability perhaps .001-1.

And by the way we buy tyres in stores here dry-rot you know, you had better check the manufactured date before you install  them!

This is precisely what happens when we fan the flames of tribal politics. Violence begets violence and this benefits no one. All peaceful and rational thinking citizens should vehemently condemn all acts of violence and vandalism especially when they have the potential to further deepen the political partisanship presently plaguing the country. Support your party as vehemently as you care for, just don’t encroach beyond your bounds by doing harm to those who you oppose. Violence and vandalism come from failure of human wisdom. Let commonsense prevail.

  14. LaPlaine Observer
    June 27, 2018

This could be viewed as an isolated incident. But when representatives of the current ruling party refers to the opposition as terrorists, this type of rhetoric can encourage acts of violence against those who do not support the Government.

    Dr. Sam
Did you have racing tires on that vehicle? That tire is as bald as Kojak’s head.

OK, in all seriousness, that is a total violation of the good doctor’s right to security. No one should think they have the right to do that to anyone. My sense is this was a political act, but people need to respect other people’s opinions, whether it is political or religious.

    Acts of endearment Dr. Christian.

Papa Doc had his Tonton-Makout, here we have Fourmis Rouges.
There are many ways the Fourmis Rouges could tell you to leave. Flattening your tires means you cannot drive away so it is a subconscious way of begging you to stay while making their leader think he has their support.

    Please don’t disappoint them.

  19. June 27, 2018

This is how low Dominicans have down to. I do not support any political party but I totally condemn such stupid actions against a son of the soil, a doctor who is there to help all the people whether they a blue, red, yellow or pink. Shame on the people or person who did it, whether this person was sent or whether this person did it of their own free will. Is doctor sam preventing you from receiving your handouts? The evil you do will get back to you one way or the other. Dominica at the moment has no growth nor any successful factory to improve the economic system. We all in Dominica rely more on import. We cannot survive on our own. Yet the few professionals that are willing to help the poor people are being ostracized by evil members of the public. Take your own responsibility for your evil actions.
