‘Unforseen circumstances’ put off murder trial

The murder trial of Shane Degallerie which was scheduled to begin on Monday at the High Court in Roseau, has been put off until May 9th 2012.

According to attorneys Zena Dyer and Gena Dyer-Munroe who are representing the accused, the matter had to be adjourned because of personal reasons – they did not elaborate.

The attorneys explained to the court that certain unforeseen circumstances had prevented them from being properly prepared to proceed with the matter.

They however assured the court that they would be ready for trial by the adjournment date.

Degallerie is being tried for the 2010 murder of Justin Joseph, a young man of Fond Cole.

Why are we as a people so quick to judge guilt or innocence?? Yes I agree the time it takes for matters like these takes too much time to reach the courts but jeeeez… not a perfect system and d/cans surely don’t have the money to make it perfect. Let justice run its course

One day Justin, one sweet day you will get justice. Your family, your mother especially suffers so much since your murder. But one day, regardless of how they use their evil acts and words to manipulate and prolong this case, Shane will face his judgment and nothing will stop what has to pass. God is a vengeful God and prayer can and will move mountains.
