Embattled dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel, is scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court this morning for a preliminary hearing.
Vybz Kartel has is facing criminal charges of murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of a firearm. He was arrested at a hotel in New Kingston on Friday when officers swooped down on a room he occupied and found a small quantity of marijuana.

This man is now an accused murderer who will be imprisoned for some years, if not for life. With such a reputation, he will not be able to travel and I hope never. His passport will show that he is a murderer. In fact, he will not be given a Visa or a Passport under this condition. You can forget about him. If he is pardoned with a clean slate he will be able to get a Visa or Passport. For now, this is impossible. Murderers are not pardoned and are not allowed to travel out of the country. They have tarnished their record for life.
