Love my culture I respect your right to express your opinion but your sweeping generalisations are negative and disrespectful to those who contribute their time and energy to bringing about such events . Your skepticism and mistrust
    Is not uplifting .

How do we know that all the proceeds will go towards the Dominica Relief fund? I am very skeptical of all these events whose organizers are claiming to be raising funds for the relief effort yet they never publish what was actually raised and given over as well as to whom the proceeds were given.
It’s becoming a real scam and making it increasingly difficult for the legit organizations to do their work.
Why can we not all work together instead of for individual profit and self-promotion.

p.s. I found the show to be of a very low standard this year. Perhaps it is time for the organizers to regroup so that they can produce a show which correctly presents Dominica ‘s vibrant culture.
Lastly, please find judges who know our culture, especially about our beloved Wob Dwiyet.

Three sets of people in this World. Those who sit and watch things happen, Those who complain when things happens, and those who do nothing but ### when things happens. Who the cap fits by all means wear it! no name but claim it. Typical!!###.

Indeed the ladies and little girls are beautiful. That was not my point. I have attended all but one of these shows therefore my comments come from a position of knowledge and firsthand information. I remember when these shows used to attract well over 500 patrons. Now the organizers are hard-pressed to get a turnout of 200 patrons despite their claim that it was a full house. I have heard of some falling out with the original organizers which might account for the lackluster production this year. Same old story – united we stand, divided we fall.

And yes, FULL TRANSPARENCY IS CRUCIAL IF WE ARE TO ATTRACT BENEFACTORS WHO CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. FULL DISCLOSURE IS A MUST!

The effort is commendable. But as the writer suggests the group should make a concerted effort to ensure that the relief to Dominca is received by those who it is intended for. The government is out of the question, you must make contact directly to the village leaders, who know their needs and who requires assistance.

I couldn’t agree more with this comment. How come the amount which is going to be /was handed over to the relief fund was not disclosed?
      WHERE IS THE TRANSPARENCY? ??

I think this is a fair question especially since I patronized the event with the understanding that I was contributing to the relief fund. In addition, the pledge seems to vacillate between part proceeds and total proceeds going to the relief fund. Please say what it is.
