The Dominica Festival Committee has released its list of winners for the 2012 Carnival.

This is so amazing! The Dos Dane Primary school has shown that size does not matter. The smallest group and they made such an impact! Go Dos Dane primary though small you can do great things! CONGRATULATIONS!!

Congratulations to DNO.:::My SPECIAL, SPECIAL AWARD to DNO. we know you guys pull all the stop to bring us the live stream at a short notice and we Dominican in UK would like to say a BIG thank you for a job well done.
To all who enjoy the live stream may I suggest WE start a donation (say a $5.00 — £5.00) or what we can afford to send to DNO so next year they can give us better live streaming from up high, on the road and maybe have an interviewer talking to people enjoying the jump up.

you all still have it wrong, the queen of the band name is spelled as followed Shenelle Laguerre, not shanelle lol. Great job, this band was for me the best on the road, the kids hmmm they were outstanding. And as for the queen she was beautiful, very much deserving.

You must be crazy Mercury was nice “yes” but Thunderbirds by far was the best band on the road. My problem with Mercury is that their costume every year is basically the same. Good effort carnival corner but i think by now all u need to go back to the drawing board.

25 years and no one at the DFC not recognizing the role WCK been playing in carnival. In addition, 50 plus years of muzik form Stars…..Where are the like of kkk, fanatic, stars and wck!!! where is the prize for the best electronic band!!! i wish they would boy-cut the carnival next year or go play in some village carnival. Alas, not even a price for the best T-shirt band……
I agree but remember the bands are getting publicity and getting paid. Everyone else does it out of luv for carnival.

@cruz when one is judging they do not only look at the costumes. Mercury was fun and you got your monies worth, but the sections were all mixed up. The was no clear distinction between the section. It was a one pot. This will cause a band to lose a lot of points. Its, not all about having fun, and getting your monies worth. Its also about organization. The section that Claudette had was poor to say the least. Did you have a good look at it? Something went wrong with that section altogether.

congrats to my daughter’s school…the Convent prep! u guys will always be close to my heart! despite wat ppl think, the teachers and parents of that school work very hard to build the school and with every recognition we are very proud of the students, teachers and parents who give self lessly to the school’s events.

Mercury was totally disorganized. i watched a group member try to go around to give out snacks and it was a task for her.
they would look so much better if they could just get themselves organized and then maybe win best band

Well, its a group so the others must have motivated her. They appeared to be enjoying each other and they really looked fantastic. That group appears to be going places. Congratulations guys and congratulations to DOMLEC also.
