Bishop Gabriel Malzaire’s carnival message

Bishop of the Diocese of Roseau Gabriel Malzaire
Bishop of the Diocese of Roseau Gabriel Malzaire

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I speak on behalf of the Dominica Christian Council and the Interdenominational Committee on Crime and Violence (IDCCV).

Carnival time is here again! It is indeed a special time of joy, excitement and pleasure for many of our people. As we all know, there are many positive attributes to this festivity: for example, the opportunity it provides for unleashing the creativity spirit in our people, and the avenue it creates for the much needed carthasis, that is, the letting go of steam, which could have positive effects on the human psyche.

However in the midst of these positive attributes, the festivity can be used as a occasion for exercising all forms of licentiousness: drug and alcohol abuse, sexual promiscuity, and the occasion for the incidence crime and violence. Let us remind ourselves that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and they should should be treated as such.

During this festive season let rationality and good ethical conduct prevail, for the spiritual, social, and physical well-being of our country.

May The Lord bless all who take part in the activities of the coming days. May their enjoyment lead to greater wholeness, thus rendering our society a kinder and gentler one.

You are a demon possessed person, worst than the man in Bible who called himself “Legion” because of the numberless demons that possessed him.

You need an exorcism as soon as possible which will only be effective for you, if God Himself does that work of healing in you.

I suggest that you ask Him to send those demons into a herd of pigs–just as the man, Legion, did. For that devil in you must stay away from us bloggers on DNO once and for all.

Until then, go ahead with your fight, for you are fighting against your own self and your religion. But remember that Jesus said “a Kingdom divided against itself cannot stand”.

Also, you chose to live out that part in the words of Isaiah, which said: “In vain they worship Me, speaking as doctrines the commandments of men” Are you ashamed of that part of the Scripture, because it is speaking about you? Well I pity you, you see!

@”Jane Toronto” –“Justices and truth” -“Simply the Truth” March 2, 2014

First of all what is the reason you cannot settle down with one identity? The latter one makes it 3 in the last 2 years–yes I also know you as “Jane Toronto”, because a leopard cannot change its skin; but are you ashamed of who you are; even if you cannot hide from people like me?

Well I am proud to be Elizabeth Lina Xavier–my people call me Liz, hence I am the true Lizavier4Jesus–the one and only me–born again of Love, indwelt by Holy Spirit since 16 years ago. I am already rooted and grounded in Love–the Light of my soul, and on my way to having the fullness of God in Jesus Christ, by the work of Holy Spirit in me–can you say that about yourself?

Eat your heart out but you will never get to know the God of Spirit in Love, Truth, and Holiness the way I do–for you are the “darkness” which cannot receive the Light of Jesus Christ; you will be so for as long as you continue to embrace the wisdom and philosophy of those who continue to lead you further into the deep of darkness. You cannot stop me from speaking the truth to the audience okay!

And since you have decided to be the great judge, on behalf of the devil in you, here is something that you need to know about yourself compared to myself; it starts by telling you who you really are in this world:

You are a species of the “natural man” consumed in that carnal attitude–the futility of your carnal mind, here is what God says about you through the apostle Paul: “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”–that is you!

I am a woman of the Spirit, born again and living the Life of Love since 16 years ago, here is what God says about me, again through the apostle Paul:

“But he who is “spiritual” judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one–that is me, okay!

And so you have no spiritual qualification to judge me or no one on DNO, for that matter–as you have been doing here–and so I suggest that you stop it, lest the wrath of God befall you, by my call to Him, through faith, against you.

This is my warning to you; now take heed of it-=-for God has given me the gift of words to communicate with Him–according to my needs, I am getting fed up with your monkey attitude–don’t push me! Now have you gotten that?

I am reading you guys comments and its obvious that you found the bishops statements disturbing….but for argument sake…can we be righteous and remember that our bodies are the temple when we are under the influence of alcohol, marijuana or cocaine….allowing us to wake up the next morning not remembering who we slept with, how many men or women we slept with….bringing innocent disadvantaged children into this world not even knowing their father’s name….how can God be a part of this…God doesn’t like Ugly, he does like nasty nor stinking odors….

Some of what they do and say at Carnival is worst than 10 Tommy Lee Spartas!!
We all know the Catholic Church is confused! Catholics are the biggest partyers… and those same folks will be rolling their rosaries come Sunday.
The church should be out there talking against the ills of Carnival, but no one is talking. The Bishop is off keel… but what can you expect..? The Pope recently told folks to leave gays alone. Seems they are enroute to joining the world system.
But my God is a righteous God… he will judge rightly. True Christians know better than to be anywhere close to the stench of that sulphur in Roseau! God said to be separate, because He has called Christians to be a Holy and peculiar people!

I am glad to read that the majority of the audience here, do not condone to that message from that Mr. Bishop; and I wish he would take a look and learn from those of us who have some or great knowledge of God, Eternal Spirit, who is the Living and Holy God in His Person of Love–the name is Jesus Christ.

My friends remember the words of Jesus Christ, who said “many are called but few are chosen”. If you know Jesus, then you are a chosen one–continue on the path of Life where He is the Leader, the only leader you will need; it is God’s promise to you and me. All you need is steadfast faith, trust, humility, and obedience to His commands as you glorify His Love and holiness

And one more thing to you, Mr. Bishop! The revelers of carnival do not have a body that is the Temple of Holy Spirit; that is almost like blasphemy coming from you

The body that carnival revelers carry around with them is like a coffin, except that this coffin encages the dead soul within them–not the dead body.

But how can they come to know that and so to seek revival for that dead soul within them, through faith, when you are speaking all of that untruth to them–as you have done in that message above.

It is a short article. Why did you not read it? What are you afraid of? If you have common sense you will get the gist of his message and not criticize him. You will not expect someone to explain what he stated to you for some of those people have their own interpretation in the same manner they misinterpret Holy Scriptures according to their mentality.

“During this festive season let rationality and good ethical conduct prevail, for the spiritual, social, and physical well-being of our country”??? My, my, my. My dear Bishop, all of the above quote will never be able to spiritualize a soul. You know very well that it takes the Holy Spirit to change a man, not rationality, not good ethical conduct. None of these will. A man can never be greater than his concept. Alas, once more the people are submerged into even greater obscurity and spiritual amnesia. The shepherds will pay for leading the people astray.AMEN

    • March 1, 2014

@Man in the Tower March 1, 2014 “Alas, once more the people are submerged into even greater obscurity and spiritual amnesia. The shepherds will pay for leading the people astray”.

Yes indeed they will pay–because Shepherds like the Bishop here should have known in his mind the words of apostle John in his Gospel, where he said at John 1 about Jesus and His Life which has to be the Light of men:

      (10) He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.

      (11) He came to His own,[c] and His own[d] did not receive Him.

      (12) But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

      (13) who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

No one can claim to be born of God, without the knowledge, teaching and guidance of the Holy Spirit, who would have indwelt that person at his or her “new birth” encounter.

How can “mister bishop” tell carnival revelers that their body is the Temple of Holy Spirit and that their attitude and conducts of that event is spiritually motivated?

I am sure that Jesus is grieving through the fact that His Light still remains unseen because of the darkness of the minds of those who speak about Him, but they are still slaves, conformed to the work of “religion” And so! Let us pray!

Hold your ignorant, silly and hypocritical words!!! Those who lack common sense cannot read between the lines of what the Bishop stated. He knows carnival is an annual event and he cannot change it. He did his best by giving words of advice. Who wants to accept it, accept it. He cannot make people do what they do not want to do. They have a free mind and will of their own which God gave them. God is the judge – not humanity as you who are playing ms. goody two shoes.
Allow D/cans to enjoy their carnival, whosoever will. I am not impressed by you and your words, you hypocrite. Carnival is here to stay. No church and no one on earth has the power to take it away from D/cans. No mere words of critics and of yours could ever change it, all of them as you who once enjoyed carnival and looked forward to it.
We have our Catholic Church, our Faith. Leave us alone and see about yourself and your sins, past and present and no doubt more to come.
God has taken note of your words and judgment. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “Judge not that you may not be judged and two-fold.”
Keep in mind you will pay for leaving the Catholic Church, for having not made it your business to know about this faith of which you once practiced, to cultivate it and allowed the noon-day devil to lead you astray by false prophets to join another church and to be critical of it. You who are its enemy are not smart at all.
You now profess to know more than the Catholic Church and its Hierarchy. Oh my! Presumptuous are you? Pride comes before the fall which was also the fall of Satan.
You know nothing and never will. The very same bible you quote from was taken from the Catholic Church and the false prophets watered-it down to suite their mentality. Stay tuned for your judgment on Judgment Day, even while you alive. You will then find out who is right and wrong. You are by no means correct and far from it.           :  twisted:

Dear Bishop, just in case you read DNO, May I advise you that not all bodies are the temple of God. We only become a temple when Christ dwells in us – that is when we acknowledge our sins and ask Him to come into our hearts and save us. After this His Spirit dwells in us and communicates to us that we are His children, guiding us as to what is righteous or not.

    • March 1, 2014

      @Christian March 1, 2014

Amen to your writing above, I am saying it again Amen. I commented on that same saying of the Bishop, but I don’t know if DNO will print it–I posted it on February 28–yours is March 01.

I don’t know what will become of the followers of the Roman Catholic Church–but it is obvious that those people will never get to know our God of Spirit, in Love and Righteousness, if they continue to be lead by the hierarchy of that Church.

For me that message of carnival where the Bishop chose to mention joy, Holy Spirit, not to mention his closing to that message–that is pure blasphemy against God–the man seems not to know what he is saying.

How could Holy Spirit in a person command them to participate in a worldly revel like carnival along with his and her attire for that revel? How can the bishop not know about this?

He is smart not to denounce it for if he did, consider the critics who will lambaste him. There is the saying, “Darned if I do. Darned if I don’t.”
He did not support carnival. He advised them to act becomingly. Did you want him to spell out everything for you who lack common sense as also the other critics who appear not to have any and godly enlightenment?
God knows what you hypocrites do behind closed doors. Go and ask God for repentance with a humble and contrite heart. Make reparation in the form of genuine worship, fervent prayer, atonement and sacrifice to appease God. All of you critics lack this godliness. In fact, you do not even know it. You should keep quiet. You have a lot to learn. You are showing the type of mind you have. I doubt if your limited mind could learn anything godly.

There is nothing Christlike or godly about carnival. In fact carnival is revelling, very sinful and there is nothing good in it for godly people. Every year after carnival people claim they repent leading to lent. My people it’s time we realise God is not a mockery – it is either you serve God or Satan, can’t serve both at the same time.

Make note of the following and practice it. If you do, you will learn to accept peoples preference and mind your own business.

      The Serenity Prayer

O God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. Courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen!

Pray for people and cease your criticism. You are doing more talking, commenting and criticizing than praying and paying genuine homage to God. This does no good to you. He knows that about you and the other critics.

“Let us remind ourselves that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and they should should be treated as such”—-Bishop Gabriel Malzaire’s carnival message: Friday, February 28, 2014

    • March 1, 2014

Really and truly, I will never understand the wisdom and philosophy of the Roman Catholic authority and leaders, according to the path on which they and their followers are waking–but claiming to be doing so in the name of God Almighty, the Lord, who is the Living God of Love in His Person, Jesus Christ.

In the first place what is this Bishop doing speaking a message to people about this worldly practice of Carnival–especially with that “theme” of encouragement–as he declares “carnival is a special time of “joy” –say what!!!!!!!!!!! Isn’t Joy a “Fruit” meaning part of the nature of Holy Spirit?

And then, to add insult to injury, right after he describes all the fleshly, shameful, and sinful demands of that festivity–which is factual–he tells the revelers, of that festival, to remember that their body is the Temple of “Holy Spirit”–my goodness gracious me!!!!!!

Don’t the Bishop knows that a person whose body is the temple of “Holy Spirit” is also a person who is under God’s authority and guidance, by sincere and steadfast faith–that person’s mind condition wants nothing to do with Carnival and its reveling activities?

Don’t the Bishop knows that a person who is under the teaching, guidance, and protection of “Holy Spirit” is a person who is aware of being in this world but not belonging to the world and it system of darkness and futility–carnival and its revelers being a part of that system of death?

Let us look at some of the teachings of apostle Paul below

      • March 1, 2014

As a leader of the Church the Bishop of Roseau should be aware that God Almighty wants nothing to do with the flesh, for He is Holy God, and He desires that His chosen people live Holy lives–therefore, how does the Bishop view the habits and practice of carnival revelers to be holy in the sight of God?

Have the Bishop not seen the advice of the apostle Paul, who teaches us who are true Christians–knowing that we are the disciples of Jesus Christ, His Church, as His Bride to be–as it is spoken here at Ephesians 5: 1-2:

“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And “walk in Love”, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a “sweet-smelling aroma”

Paul tells us again, at Ephesians 5: 8-9

“For you were once darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord. Walk as children of Light; for the Fruit of the “Spirit” is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.

Again Paul advised us at Galatians 5: 16 “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh”–along with all its other sinful demands.

How can the Bishop of Roseau blend the “walk of Love” “the walk of Light” and the walk of the Spirit”, which all have to do with God Almighty by His holiness, His Love, and the ways of Life by the faith of His people, with the walk of the revelers of carnival?

What is the Bishop doing, by encouraging his followers to embrace such a worldly concept as the practice and habit of carnival?

How can the Bishop lead his followers towards a Life of “completeness” and “perfection”–a Holy people to the “satisfaction” of our God, whose primary attribute is “Holiness” along with “Love”–as he tells them that their worldly attitude and conducts motivates “spiritual” creativity and “joy”–all of which belongs in the walk of the Spirit, by faith and not by sight?

Well I better inform you, Mr. Bishop, according to apostle Paul below as he compares a husband’s love to his wife with that of Jesus Christ, to the Church–Paul says at Ephesians 5: 25-27:

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the Church and gave Himself for her, that He might “sanctify” and “cleanse” her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be “Holy” and without “Blemish”.

Mr. Bishop I don’t know about you, but I don’t see a reveler of carnival being part of a
Church who is on his or her route to becoming “Holy” and without “Blemish”–that kind of perfection that should belong to the Church of Jesus Christ, you see! O dear God! For crying out loud?

This is the era we presently reside in and it is not getting better. Some calypso songs also reflect that.
Some will listen and others will not. The latter is bent on having a so-called good time at all costs, no matter what the cost and of their health.
People have come a long way from those days of slavery. If there were liquor stores, they were not owned by slaves. Could slaves dare go there to purchase liquor? To begin with they had no money.
Slaves were law-abiding people. Harming or killing their own never crossed their mind. They loved one another and shared something in common with each other and were sincere. Their aim was to be free. Today, this is not the case. It is apparent that if some members of humanity can harm and also murder their own, they have hearts of rock/stone. They have their freedom and some do not appreciate it. These are incarcerated in prison due to their wicked hearts.
Probably, to a certain extent, they should revert to the days of slavery. We would have peace, tranquility and security, able to enjoy them and very little to worry about. We would not have to fear our own harming us.

“May The Lord bless all who take part in the activities of the coming days. May their enjoyment lead to greater wholeness, thus rendering our society a kinder and gentler one” AMEN

I knew a type like you would make such a comment. Obviously, you did not read his message properly. It is not what you do but how you do it.
Carnival can be enjoyed with class, dignity and respect. There are a few who do. There will always be some who will overdo it and make it look like a bad thing, turning something good into bad as your comments. Did you ever participate in carnival in the past? All D/cans did even though they were merely spectators.
I recall some would cook a meal early that day so as to get ready to also view the carnival and welcome friends who will be visiting. Carnival is really a wonderful time to get together. I wished that after it is over, everyone will be as happy and loving as they were during those days. Life returns to normal.

Are you, too, beyond comprehending?
What happened to you in recent years/months? Another hypocrite pretending to be goody two shoes.
