She may have been tired; probably had uncomfortable shoes or when the picture was taken she was serious. It looks like she is eying someone or something.
I had played Mas in Roseau and also Toronto. In Toronto, from Queens Park to down Bay Street to Bay Front, by the time we got to Bay Front my feet hurt so much that later I could hardly walk. That night I could not even go partying. I had to soak my feet. My shoes were not comfortable. I missed the D/ca Association dance that Saturday night. It was all the preparation, up and down and besides working prior to Caribana Day. The next day I was ready to go out again.
Only last weekend I told someone, “It was fun but tiring that I doubt I will ever play Mas again!”
Dominica was not so bad. A few of us would jump up in a “hot, hot, hot band,” leave it and go to friends’ homes along the way for a rest, especially in King George V Street and back to the band. Those were the days, fun and memorable ones.

Looks good. Pretty costumes, bright and colourful. Looks like a Dominica carnival. Hope we will leave out the sleezy Trini path we began to follow some years ago

Well why does it seem as if there is not much fun in this? Look at that girl in gold with a tight lips instead of smiling for the camera–good Lord!
