The content of the carnival is such that you had to be cautioned. This in itself is a red flag.

I have read about alcohol, drugs, lewd dress, illicit sex, and HIV/AIDS being a risk to those who enjoy themselves too much.

Sadly it is the alcohol, drugs, lewd dress, and illicit sex that draw many pleasure seekers to carnival. These are the kind of people common sense would tell you are apt to be unruly. And this is the crowd that spawns trouble.

And please do not tell me I have no right to comment on your national/local activities. Your authorities announce and advertise carnival for all to attend not just Dominicans. I have not personally visited Dominica yet but I have friends with children who go to Dominica and spent money on the island. My family (immediate and extended) travel abroad, and may visit. So yes, I do care about the wellbeing of the beautiful nature island. People at my church have told me *its paradise* (their exact words).

    Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

But Rev. Donald Hill doesn’t sleep at all…. You everywhere and in front like eyelash… politics news, you there… news about arrest, you there… even Dear Bella ou la!
Before you try to deem Carnival itself as a “bad”, you should do some research. Carnival is a Western Christian (not just Catholic) festival that occurs before Lent. It is meant to allow people to enjoy a heightened sense of social unity, by bringing masses together, to enjoy music and alcohol (which as you would recall from the bible was consumed in excess during times of celebration), and foods that are ‘forbidden’ during lent. There are people who may drink too much and fight, and there are people who drink too much and don’t, or they might just falling asleep. The same for anytime a crowd of strangers congregate. People who have sex, will still have sex,Carnival or not. In the pics, do you see anything less than what a person would wear on the beach? Rev. i respect you, but you judge too much without…

high blood pressure is whats wrong and other health issues. Shouldnt judge people by their appearance, however, self improvement is key. Most fat women talk about they love their size, but secretly they wish they could lose the weight to a more optimum size.
