Opening of carnivasl in possie! Really! I saw Ck and Tripple K jaming on the road. An opening carnival parade consists of ole mas category, floats of pageant contestants, floats with calypsonians, floats from business places, creative individuals, and many more. Sadly i saw none of those in the opening of carnival 2012 in portsmouth. Portsmouth people get your act together and stop the shame.

This parade was a disaster. Possie people need to get talented people on the committee. Whoever is there right now is making a mess of everything. Possie was like a laughing stock on Saturday. Did people really sit together to plan this sham of a parade? Please, next time you all want CK or KKK to play on the road just say so and don’t say you are having a parade.

I have to mention that in many of the photos from children in the parades to those children observing that parents in Dominica are over sexualizing their children especially their little girls. leotard so tight and makeup, lip gloss i mean come on people! They’re kids. There are high cases of abuse Dominica and whether its reported or not there are so many perverts lining up the street watching and scrutinizing your kids bodies even the teenagers. Dress your children appropriately so when they grow up they can act like ladies…. For me this is just the worst to see little girls being paraded around like little jezebels ….uggghhh No child of mine going parade with tight closes and short pants or makeup. Lip gloss and lip stick is to attract. Why would u want your little girl to atttract anyone is beyond me.

On a normal day you wont give the kids/children those stuff like make up etc but its CARNIVAL, DOMINICA Culture. It all about colour etc…so to enhance the costume you add the necessary. OMG you pple are so hepocrite..gueezzz

        February 6, 2012

What does hypocrisy have to do with anything? I grew in Dominica until and not one day did my mother ever put makeup on me. Today I wearing it well strong. As a kid I had ribbons and always covered up. Dressed like a little girl. Pllss

Your days, my days and now the kids days are three DIFFERENT day…three DIFFERENT generation you are considering right here…times changing my lady…their parents have no problem with it… i personally dont see anything wrong with it cause its just for a season (one or two days)…

      • Z.........
        February 7, 2012

It only takes one day one moment one second for a predator to lay eyes on your child and then u will see how a second can change ur life. But anyways

Wow…I missed out on that but promise to make it up for the real carnival. Much respect to Possie for doing this peacefully. Lets carry this peaceful celebration through the entire carnival season and beyond.

but possie isn’t the capital! Last time I check i don’t remember portsmouth being named the capital of dominica. But what is wrong with country folks nuh? All you have issues man? It not that serious. All you say all you proud to be from country yet it seems that you guys are riddled with envy, discontent and hate for roseau and roseau people. Yet a set of all you sending all you kids roseau for school. WHy? Cause everybody dominican….. jeessh people get over it. Portsmouth people might want to spend more time helping those abused kids like the one DNO featured and all dem thieves that up there volehing people things on purple turtle…. goshhhh

        @ Z:

After readihg the above comment about children being dressed like adults, I almost thought that you had a good heart and good intentions even if I felt you over-reacted. But don’t you think that “envy…discontent…and hatred are very strong words and way over the top? Roseau belongs to us all. Without a strong agricultural economy, Roseau is doomed. Remember that the “country” feeds Roseau and sustains its commercial activity. Roseau has as much crime, if not more, as Portsmouth. I do not want to attack Roseau but the above comment did not warrant your attack on “country” folks. I am offended.

        We Love Possie!!

@sout man. U making your own self sad cause I don’t even know how to exlpain anything to people like u. It’s okay to run Roseau people in the mud but as soon as some one says something about country people is an issue. I don’t see nothing wrong in what u say and if u could read you would see why I responded the way I did. As for chick well I not a lesbian so I date men and no I don’t have no country man. After reading country man comments on here it’s apparent that all you can’t comprehend and I doh have time for man that can’t read and understand. By the way I’m first generation Roseau . My entire family from country but I see why they move to town
