Many schools in Roseau observed what has been called “Come as you like day.”
Students dressed in various costumes which reflected the Carnival spirit.
DNO visited some schools in the capital to take a look and grab some photos.

wat mashee i seeing there
Where is the Pope? There was a really cute picture of a kid dressed like Pope Francis circulating the internet.
Say it ain’t so. This is not Halloween. What happen to make costumes that reflect our heritage/ carnival?
Even the little ones are in on it. They look cute. Well, they are D/cans and even at their age, carnival and its music is already in their blood.
Enjoy it you little ones. You are people too! It will not be long when you will be teenagers and then adults and really enjoy carnival more than you can at present. One day, you will be the future planners and organizers.
God bless you little children! Our Lord Jesus Christ loves you – always!
how sad for the wesley high school till on the 14 they have come as you like
The kid in the Luigi costume…love it!
I saw some of these students today and I swear they twere adults in a jouvert band. I wonder if these children were allowed in school. Even if it is come as u like, they are students and still needs to dress decently.
xxx (triple X) it is better than they going to school dress like demons (devils)… they look beautiful and you can tell when they grow up what they want to be… leave them alone, some of allu to damn negative when comes to kids and our culture…SMH
Ok, if you say so.
too me in smss is come as a freak day i seeing.
Wow, based on the pictures the outlook for our professionals don’t look to bright.
is it professional day or come as you like? you all ppl just like to run and type crap.
@xxx STUPESSSS…….
It’s not career day! Its come as you like!
My exact thought! One would think that students would come out dressed as pilots, doctors, tradesmen, nurses, etc., instead you got a bunch of short skirts and wings all over the place.
But again, the schools need to establish the criteria and focus. I think in an era where you really have young people battling with so many negative influences, I think an occasion like this would be an excellent opportunity to get the students thinking of positive career paths. Dedicate the day as a career day and let the students feel the pride and joy of being in those uniforms and get them in that mindset that this could be them one day and they have what it takes to achieve those dreams.
Those types of costumes I would leave to jourvert morning and carnival Monday and Tuesday.
I remember couple years ago attending the event at St. Martin school and the outfits were shocking and the dance that went with it left me wondering as to where are we heading to as a nation.
you said those outfits are for jouvert, carnival Monday and Tuesday well that was the whole idea of the kids come as you like, it was not career day, give the kids a break its carnival season, some of you people are too negative, no one is perfect, let the kids be kids and enjoy what ever activities is going on, when career day come they will dress like lawyers and doctors and whatever you think is a career. now is carnival time!
What a sad thing to say. It says a lot about you however. I am a graduate of Saint Mary’s Academy now residing in the US working on my Masters in Psychiatrist plus the many who graduated from this GREAT school who are doing amazing things with their life out there. We all looked forward to come-as-you-like day with WCK playing and the Convent ladies joining. I will always remember those days. That’s what make who I am today and to better my life so that I wont end up thinking like you.
you must be a new kind of stupid!
are you trying to say idiot?
They are children having fun give them a break….”it’s come as you like” and not Career day!!!
I agree
I’ve read stupid comments before but this one takes the cake.
@xxx
Wow, based on your comment, you’re not very bright, are ya?
Quick question. The “xxx” in your name, does that represent three strikes against your intelligence? OUT!!
@ XXX you are sick. You mean children in costume just being themselves have you bent the hell out of shape! Every negative word you have spoken against these kids, I dare reverse it all back on you. Leave DOMINICAN children alone.
