Some of those little children clothes much too revealing…when we finish we talking about abuse and statutory rape…that first photo is just distasteful…there’s no reason why these children have to be wearing such outfits…I saw a photo of Convent High School band costume and their costumes were not so revealing…they can make costumes or outfits for the kids without all that skin and sexualized fit…

must say was a very good opening and the thought of bring it on the bayfront was good ,but the end of it was very poor ,how can u end every thing at 9pm and asking people to go after party for $20 when the same band was on the road all afternoon ,u should have kept one band on the bayfront to finish up let people have fun,its not always about making money

Why the Change for the opening of CARNIVAL this was a mess all these decades we parade right into Carnival City with KKK or CK bringing the crowd into the park and that where our carnival spirit started. Now you have to pay to go into the park don’t try to impose Trinidad’s park carnival on us this is ridiculous. You all bring people on bay front where two pieces of plywood was nail together untidy looking. The Mayor of Roseau couldn’t even get down the stage to cut the ribbon, there was no audio for part of the show a total MESS. Next year don’t try this mess the method we had for years worked, we are not Trinidad we are DOMINICA leave our carnival alone PLEASE……..

Well, call me a hypocrite or call me a “visyez” but MAGWAY SA! Who r the parents of the kids in the first pic? Hello, at this tender age? I thought we were supposed to grow our little girls into decent young ladies! When u have them dressed up in a carnival band so “sexified”, what r u truly teaching them? I can understand the little ones in blue and yellow, covered decently and waving their flags but not the BRUK BRUK BRUK IT DOWN I’m seeing in red and white. No sa! Bun dat! Sa pa pyes wespay! Shame on the parents, I say, shame shame shame! :-|

Opening parade looked good. Alot of traditional costumes, though the crowd looked at certain points. However, if I know Dominicans well the Bayfront was a mass of people. Here, wishing all Dominicans a peaceful, funfilled, violent-free carnival season.
On a negative note, that young woman smiling away in a red panty should be charged for exposure. Common man, panties and then you are at work on MOnday morning playing most when you compromised your values on Saturday? When Val made the comment at the opening concerning dress wear, this is exactly what he was talking about.
If you notice most men are fully covered in the band, while most women leaves alot to be desired.
This is not hypocrite. A couple years from now when that young girl watches herself on TV with a husband and child on a settee she will feel bad and embarassed……

for your eys DN;O make a news segment aboout it. Very poor publicty for Dominica. Further estabilsing Dominica as the forefront af beeing”bananana republic”. I wish thsi could be banned, white rich people appearing at the olympic games as “Dominicans<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<". … me sideways, but all but not D/ca.

I went to the stadium last night. Nothing was happeing there but you had to pay an entrance fee of 20 E to the inner circle vendors. What was I paying fore the 20EC since there was nothing happening at the stadium itself? Where can I claim refund?

The picture with the little boys push their truck, made me want to cry. It brought back childhood memories of driving truck, rolling sec and tire around the village. Now all the kids want to do is fight and kill each other. We were poor but lived in a peaceful and happy community. Oh how I miss those good old days

CHANGE IS A MUST…ALL WE HAD WAS ALOT OG HUNGRY PEOPLE WALKING AROUND DIRTY ROSEAU.
I DONT KNOW why is it that that Prime Minister not calling elections to ease us up from that misery.
Roseau needs to be cleaned up. All where we went was smelling pe pe. The place needs to be washed up and it was quite ashame to see the state of Roseau for that opening. Yes quite a lot of people were on the street but many of those floats were poorly decorated and that was quite an embarrassment.
I think that our mass is really becoming a major source of anguish.

This year opening was full of different costume bands and participants from various competitions displaying their outfits. I enjoyed every moment. What was actually missing was music. I believe that their should have more than one truck or even the groups personal vehicles playing music. It began boring for a while….

I said the samet hing charlo. for all the perverts and child molesters we have walking round DA. WHY would parents allow their children to be so scantily dressed. They cab still participate in the carnival with more modest clothing. a nice t- shirt over the short pants would have done just as well.
