To all the so called Christians, stop you all hypocrisy,

  2. February 15, 2013

There will be that element of bad behavior among revellers. Not only in Dominica,in Trinidad,Barbados, even on Eastern park way.But we must not tolerate this violence in any form,we must speak out against it.Carnival must not be seen as a national wild fete, but a celebration where people from other countries want to participate. And where foreign exchange can be had.so let us be more professional and elevate this celebration to new level.Come let us make money.

Once carnival finish all them hypocrite bashing it on DNO especially on Ash Wednesday!

I’m sure some of them were just dancing to the same beat and the rest maybe overseas and cannot come home now they want to ban Carnival. They take not into account the economic and cultural opportunities it provides us with but the mere negative of those high repute trouble makers.

The people in the community know who they are, the police know who they are so let’s do something about it and take away their human rights to not participate in carnival and throw them Stockfarm if like animals they want to behave. Just do that for one year and we’ll see if it makes a difference!

I personally enjoyed my carnival and to the elderly the band disturbed we’re sorry. Maybe next time your care takers can make weekend arrangements out of the community if they can afford !

These so call young boys that forming gangs playing macho in groups just one day you guys will mess with the wrong person. In my days a gang was something fun but nowadays gangs are all about violence. Something needs to be done with these young men.Why cant they let people enjoy themselves in peace they must come in and behave like animals.

We a looking at whats happening for a joke.Folks its serious the lives of our young people are at stake. The need for Jesus in our society thats the answer.Jesus said he is not willing that any should perish but that ALL should come to repentance.Turn to Jesus no one knows the time or the hour.Make it right. There is no repentance beyond the grave.

All praises be to Allah, I am so happy I am no longer connected to this society and its cultural practices that has nothing to do with Allah, His scriptures, His prophets and messengers. I am only with the practices that are in accordance or doesn’t conflict with Allah’s ordinances.

May Allah guide our nation for they have gone so far away from guidance and chose to follow their desires. Amen.

Oh Allah have mercy on them, if not the present people but guide the children that come from their loins. Amen

You claim you are no longer connected with this society but it is this society, which provides tyou with a living and you are only too happy to critize! Even in the islam faith hypocrites are frowned upon. May the Merciful lighten your heart, inshallah.

    February 13, 2013

allu must stop blaming bouyon cause thts not the problem once you go to tht thing they call carnival expect for it to hav some sort of violence do matter what music or country u in expect this evey body quick to jump on our music in the other caribbean country they dont play bouyon they play soca dancehall samba etc yet it does hav murders kidnapping rape and all sort of nonsense we dont hav is just tht when people drink the devil juice and smoke the devil tree’s things like tht will happen carnival just a currupt entertanment and we hav to live with it until we die cause we cant stop it only god can i just find allu always bringing down our music how much of allu so called diaspora people tht try any help them bands invest in them for them to make quality music help them give them idea’s remember tht is de young generation working with no one to help show them the way de only band tht made something of them selfs is exile one witch other tht made it big time in dominica and sign for foreign labels none swinging is always de best band but after carnival and independece they disappear living de bouyon bands to to work alone all through de year not setting de trend for them in terms of use more music instrument than electonics programs not even de band tht create bouyon setting a standard for the young ones instead they trying and compete with them come we hav to rise our country’s music up stop bring it down it already not no where

      February 13, 2013

You are sdounding like the American Rifle Association saying that it is not guns that kill people but people. Bouyon has nothing to do with carnival and is used by drinks companies to boost the consumption of their products. The organisers even advertised “unlimited” drinks and nobody said a thing, not even the bishop! Take your responsibility like a man and don’t be a weasel.

I was agreeing with u till u reach on people of the Diaspora. People living out there struggling just like you bossman. They say grass is greener on d other side but more u get is d more u have to spend. Dominica sweet sweet. You don’t have to pay to park outside your own home, your rent is not from 650usd to over 1000usd…come on, stop making statements like that.

How do they choose the road march if the local calypsos are not played on the road? I thought that is how it works. This Bouyoun Music as they call it is really garbage.I had to get off line it was too much.

    • Nel
      February 13, 2013

If you think Bouyon is garbage u should listen to Soca “whine up on a stranger”, “tief a whine” “fogup de place” etc… check them out. Last year a lady was dancing to the lyrics of one of them songs and she started dancing with a stranger and she end up as far as going to bed with de man. She was working in d bank, ash wednesday the man came to de bank to change his coins he had collected from carnival and then he saw that the girl he was with was the teller in the bank. so he called out to hr and asked her if she remember him, she was so shocked, the man was a vagrant. She left him and went to de back telling him as she went that she did not know him. So he startd telling de whole bank what went on between them and then she skipped the country.

  20. February 12, 2013

The music nowadays is not encouraging at all.I heard the songs playing from a system and some of the dirty words and the beat of the music is not ok.It is a shame to see the young girls and how badly they are behaving and dressed.Sad.

    February 12, 2013

The bouyon music is vile and is like poison to the soul. 90 % of incidents happen in theses bands and instead of upping the quality of their lyrics and the tempo it keeps getting worse.
The music is also too loud, there should be a limit on the decibel levels. What about the elderly who live in Roseau and are immobile so they have to be subjected so that volume of noise. What about the damage to our hearing?
I’m very worried for this nation when I see what they are exposed to.

u should visit Trinidad then! Everything is Tripled! You have bands with over 10,000 people and about 8 trucks to push their music pr band. I don’t hear Trini’s complaining and all of them not in carnival mark u.
