It is the hope of local artist Smokie Cut that a “motivational anthem” which he has written for a Dominican Street Football team now competing in Trinidad, will help spur them to victory.
The team, named “God Gives God Takes” and which comes from Goodwill, recently won a Guinness Street football competition held in Dominica and is now participating in the regional version of the competition in Trinidad.
Dance Hall artist, Smokie Cut, told Dominica News Online that he has written and recorded what he describes as a motivational anthem “to have them in the right state of mind so that when they go out, they represent Goodwill to an extent but Dominica to the fullest.”
The competition in Trinidad is scheduled to be held today and tomorrow from 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm. The Dominica team will be looking to add the $10,000.00 USD grand prize in Trinidad to the $1000.00 EC which they won in the Dominica leg of the competition.
