My brother, Richard Bredlo, flew to Dominica days before the Hurricane. I think he is in the Good Hope area.
Have not heard from him. If anyone in that area knows of his whereabouts etc. Please contact me.

Sounds like a great relief effort in progress. Any news on the reopening of Airports. I am scheduled to fly in at the end of the month but unsure at what stage the reopening is at?

Also how did St Joseph school get on, was there much damage?

We hear very little in the UK on progress!

    Thank you

      Hello:
Both airports are currently open. You would need to check your individual provider for any updates with regard to the flight schedule at that within that time-frame. Additionally, there is some ferry service to and from the neighboring islands.

What an effort but well-worth it. Thank you to all who are helping and brought food and water to D/ca. These are necessities no one can do without.
I read on a Toronto website a Canadian Warship left for Dominica and has arrived.
When I view the pictures, whatever is available on some websites, I thought, Hurricane Maria gave Dominica a good beating. It appeared even angrier than Hurricane Irma. Of course Irma did much harm.
I heard on the News the situation in Puerto Rico is grim. Thanks to those who will also help Puerto Rico.

I want to know, God willing, if my dear friend and his family are ok. His name is Glensworth Larocque, he is a police officer in Portsmouth, he has 3 or 4 kids with Dion or Dionne Lewis, his long time girlfriend. Please, if anyone can tell me that they are safe, I would be so grateful. I am an old Canadian friend, Jocelyne.

The worse place to be is on a plane the pilot knows is about to fall but keeps announcing that all is well and the plane will be landing in 10 minutes. For those of you that don’t know better I feel sorry for you because what you hearing in press conference is so far from the truth on the ground. I just landed in NYC. via Barbados, straight from Dominica, and folks I was in Dominica for Maria and had to run. When I got to Barbados last night I was shocked by the questions Bajans and some Dominicans asked me based on what is being broadcast in Bad is and the feel good Detroit them reporting to the foreign press, knowing very well that local Dominicans not hearing the lies because they have no radio, tv or phone to challenge their press conferences and they know Q95 is down. Folks all I can say you that are abroad is try to get your family members out asap, because it’s not good and 95% of what I seeing on DOn and hearing on TDN is very misleading.

I put out my post because I don’t want you in the Diaspora to get a heart attack when you get to know the truth. I do not want to be negative or scare anyone but I can tell you folks what you reading on DNO and hearing on TDN in the name of official report is just not true. They lie about just just everything from the official death count to those missing; from food distribution to looting. I can tell you its a big mess in Dominica. and everybody that can run is running. Chinese selling anything for $5.00, whether it’s a bicycle or a stove because they fraud. Some just open their store and giving everything for free so they could run. As for Best buy they letting go over 300 employees because of looting that is not covered by their insurance. I just wish Skerrit them were reporting the truth to you all. But they know nobody in Dominica hearing them so they don’t care. Several top laborites are upset and talking about skerrit and Carbon to resign

Very disappointing not seeing U.S. in any of the humanitarian support, especially that U.S. is best positioned and most capable to provide help.

I’m very impressed with what I have been reading and following closely. Dominica seem to be waking up from their knock out punch quicker than Puerto Rico is.

Nice picture you are painting for people that really don’t know what is going on over there. All the groceries are either demolished or have already been looted. No food or water for most of the people. DWASCO at this point, if any water is provided, it is muddy and not potable. They wouldn’t be evacuating so many people if the place was safe, sanitary and livable. The hospital has little to accommodate patients, however, this in itself is not unusual for PMH. The place is devastated and it will take years to replace. Insurance isn’t going to cover most things. Most of these people are poor to begin with. People on this island ought to know by now to stockpile water and to have water purification kits. People have become too lazy and helpless on this island. They have no leader. No accounting for all the dead as yet and it isn’t 15 people. This was a major premeditated hit with a Category 5 Hurricane designed to devastate. Heard of Geoengineering yet?

Contrary to this glowing report, this is what I hear from people on the ground:
Communications are not working. I still cannot call anyone anywhere in Dominica.
As of last evening the PMH did not have electricity.
There is little evidence of food distribution.
    Aid distribution is being politicized.
This is a terrible situation. It is worse than most war zones. Please do not tell us fairy tales. Give us the truth DNO! Or is DNO just a poster page for government announcements?

Shhhhhhh Zandoli 8) . Doh talk too fast Zandoe because ‘all that glitters is not gold”. Some times is better to listen and hold your tongue. But it is what it is for now until at least 6 months from now when we will give Jack his jacket and Maria her panty.
