BUSINESS BYTE: Roam Like You’re Home with DIGICEL

digicelDigicel customers travelling throughout the Caribbean can now enjoy the same low rates they enjoy at home with the launch of Digicel Dominica’s “Roam Like You’re Home” calling plan.

Over the years, Digicel’s customers have benefited from the convenience of being able to make calls and use data services from virtually anywhere in the world using its reliable roaming service. Now, with the introduction of the “Roam Like You’re Home” plan, they will see significant savings on their phone bills as roaming costs have been eliminated. Customers can now make calls, send emails, browse the internet and send SMS messages for the same low rates that they enjoy at home.

The “Roam Like You’re Home” plan sees both prepaid and postpaid customers benefiting from truly great value when roaming – with no opt-in fee required.

Richard Stanton, Digicel Dominica CEO, said; “Having carried out extensive research, the “Roam like Your Home” plan was developed and sees us offering customers the same best rates for making calls and using data abroad – as they would at home. Our plan is the first of its kind in the world as it gives customers the freedom to use their phones as they do at home – without having to worry about roaming fees.

He continued; “We are thrilled to be leading the charge in making mobile telecommunications services cheaper for our customers and, in doing so, setting the standard that hopefully other mobile telecommunications services providers will follow.”

Wait a min, as if LIME at some point had free roaming. I could recall being able to travel throughout the Caribbean with my LIME phone and not pay roaming. Admittedly, they’ve change this. So Mr. Stanton Claim that it is the first for the Caribbean is not true….however, wonderful initiative.
