DLP recognizes stalwarts

PM Skerrit

Leader of the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) Roosevelt Skerrit has made an appeal for more Dominicans to assume roles and leadership positions within the party.

Skerrit told the 3rd annual DLP Awards ceremony in Grandbay on Sunday that “die hard” party supporters are responsible, in part, for the policies governing the country.

During the event, thirty-three stalwarts were recognized for their contribution to the party.

“Very often leaders and those in positions of high visibility and influence are credited for the rating of a political party that is doing commendably. On occasions, the manner in which a party handles a crisis, is celebrated and traced back to the ultimate decision maker, but what is often not recognized, is the fact that it is from frequent interactions with embers and well wishers, that many policies are born”, he said.

Skerrit told party supporters that they have served as the party’s barometers over the years.

“Together we remain an unbeatable force in the politics of Dominica. In your simple and unassuming way, you have served us over the years,” he said.

Skerrit said while time does not permit him to personally thank every supporter who assisted the DLP, their support is  highly appreciated.

The DLP leader also suggested that the annual awards should be held twice for the year.

Meantime Parliamentary Representative for the Grandbay constituency, Justina Charles, says the contribution of those who worked “towards bringing the party to where it is today” should never be forgotten.

Shame on your stalwarts! You all will never be able to forgive yourselves for the way you treat and deceive the people of Grand Bay.It’s no wonder your big community is in that state of affair and you all have absolutely nothing to show for it. Enjoy your newly constructed jail on our playing field.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit is among the speakers set to address the conference dubbed “Escape From America” scheduled for October 25 – 27 at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale Arizona.

The conference organised by Matt Nestmann is being billed around obtaining a second passport, expatriation, and an international tax planning seminar.

Which sensible person of integrity although to be honest these words integrity, morals, ethics, have become a mockery as for nearly 2 decades now they have been butchered beyond recognition in Dominica having been used to describe the least ethical, least moral and those with the least amount of integrity!

Anyway, any sensible law abiding god fearing Dominican would never join Labour or UWP or Freedom. So anyone who does makes it very easy for the rest of us to know exactly where on the spectrum his/her character lies.

A new party must be formed.

Celebrating Party! Dominica as an independent nation is not a party! Be it resolved that all members of the labour party be honoured with brand new cars and houses with a good stipend that comes from friendly governments! Let the die hard labour party members be given food cards in order to be able to go and shop at top supermarkets especially whose with ties to the party! Let all the goods be shared only to party die hard! By so doing there will be calmness in the country and no one would complain even when the government is not doing what they were voted to do. No one will be able to question the performance of the government and the party members no matter what the issues may. Be it further resolved that everytime, national issues come up there will be functions and activities so used as diversion tactics so as to keep the country cool and calm! Dont forget that party faithfuls will always be rewarded for their commitment and loyalty to the party and not country! Be it resolved that folks remain blind and deaf even thought things may not be as it seems to be! They Are Dominica! Are You?

it is without doubt that the dominica labour party is the most organized and structured party in this country. when on considers the strides this party has made since assuming the reigns of leadership in dominica, it is without doubt a strong structure and leader which has kept them afloat. one remembers the difficult austerity programmes which the dlp had to administer on dominicans during the imf programme from 2002,it is admirable that the dlp as a party and governmnet has done so well to yake dominica to where it is today. compare and contrast the two leading political parties today. all the UWP has been doing through its sorry advocates like lennox and angelo is trying to insight violence and create anarchy. they have offered no credible advise or alternatives. take yoyr minds back to the hopeless budget response by spaggs john. is that what is being offered as better government. it is therefore no surprise that pm skerrit and the DLP can once again recognize the labourite labourers on the vineyard and as is being seen, the new labour firebrands getting on board. this spell doom and gloom for a UWP which is quickly slidding to a slippery slope to no hope and seemingly wanting to take dominica down with them.just throw your minds back to the old cannons at the cabrits which now stand as monuments but are really good for no active purpose. thats exactly what the UWP has become in todays political life in dominica. PM skerrit the people has given you that mandate to which you have stood up manfully. through thick and thin you have persevered and today dominica is the envy of the region. the memebers and supporters of the DLP are proud of what you have been able to accomplish through trying time and it is no suprise that you are being rewarded with the overwhelming results at the polls. the work is not done but like you have always said “god is good all the time and all the time god is good”. as we as a people continue to forge ahead, lets continue to recognize those who have been at the forefront of this party’s struggle and also the many dominicans who pray for you and the contry’s success daily. good must over come evile and so no weapon formed against us shall prosper. labourites and supporters of the DLP, dont be weary in well doing for in time your reward will be great. congratulations on this great awards ceremony pm skerrit.

   :?: I once thought supporting a group of people to govern the country was all about good governance, but it is clear to me it’s about a party being in power no matter how evil they are.If Hitler shoold ressurect it seems and take on the leadership of Labour Party,he would have won it seems once it’s the party these people love. What a shame to this nation called Dominica, most people i’ve spoken to from other countries has said to me that Dominicans are a set of dishonorable people. There’s a high level of illiteracy and uneducated ignorance in this land. This land does not seeem to be a civilised place for civilised people to live in.   :?:

This guy is not a very nice man. He betrayed our son the Hon. Pierre Charles, may his soul RIP. We all know that he brought undue stress and pressure, knowing very well that our beloved patriot had a sickly heart. How can we forget the time he went to the Chinese embassy in Barbados unknowing to his boss the deceased Hon. P.C.? How can we allow him to get away with such betrayal, and continue to welcome him in the birthplace of our beloved son? Grand Bayrians, history will not be kind to what we are doing to the country.

All key supporters will not be able to receive an award at a ceremony however they are aware of the appreciation for their continued hard work and support (the calling of the talk shows, defending the Party wherever and whenever, educating others about the works being done and the list goes on…)
