Three members of the same Dominican family have all released new books for 2014.
They are Joyette Fabien and her two daughters, Jamesa and Jenel.
Four Strong Women by Joyette Fabien is a collection of short stories about women who have struggled, endured and survived. It explores varied social problems which impact the lives of women. The stories are about humble women, ordinary women, women of faith, hard working women, dedicated mothers. They are meant to encourage women to be strong, persevering and resilient; to motivate women to forge relentlessly on despite life’s challenges and to inspire women to live each day prayerfully, trusting that the good Lord will continue to give them the grace needed to face the trials of each new day and to be confident that amidst the rain there will be days of sunshine. The woman in each story represents women that you encounter every day.
Joyette Fabien is also author of Motherless Children and Other Stories- Stories about people you know which is also published as two separate eBooks: Those Youthful Days – Stories about people everywhere and Its Different Now – Stories about Change. She has also published a number of articles at Selfgrowth.com. and joyettefabien.hubpages.com.
Jamesa Fabien’s book, Memories, Magic and Marshmallows is also a collection of short stories for young readers. While the stories are mainly products of the writer’s vivid imagination; they are basically about real life incidents which affect young people as they grow up. The sequencing of the stories reflects the author’s development as gradually, the stories reflect a greater level of maturity. Jamesa is also author of Life Love and Laughter – Stories and poems to make you laugh.
Lighter Days and Brighter Moments –Poems for Young Readers, Revised Edition is a joint publication of Jenel and Jamesa Fabien and was first published in 2011. It is a collection of poems for teens covering a wide range of subjects about the things which children think and talk about and it captures the psychological development of teens as the years pass. The poems are categorized under three broad themes: Fun Poems, Inspirational Poems and Reflective Poems. Although aimed at young readers, the messages contained in these poems are serious and relevant to readers of all ages. Jenel Fabien has also published From “What? No Cheese?” To What Might Have Been and a large collection of videos and songs.
The books are all available online as paperback and eBooks at Amazon.com and other major distributors internationally. Locally, some of the titles are available at Jays Bookstore, among other locations. They can also be obtained from Joyette Fabien at Tel: 277 3965.

Thank God for some warm news from home. The women are holding the fort.
Well done my past English teacher. Good role model for your daughters. Great family – so proud of you all.
When ever I hear such good news especially from my old school PSS, I feel a very deep sense of pride. But I worked for a brief period of time with Jenel at Reginald Armour Hospital and from the wonderful personality she displayed, I perceived that she was someone who had untapped potential.
Congrats Jen, Jamesa and Joyette. The sky is the limit.
Whenever I hear your names I’m reminded of your late husband, and father of your girls. How proud he would have been to share in this moment; may his soul rest in peace.
Mrs Fabien was my English teacher at PSS. Very good Ms. Rodney(as she was called then) and reach for the stars young women. May God bless you all.
There are progressive women out there representing.
Love this story of young people doing something positive and being great examples for other young folks.

They are not the only Dominicans who released book stienberg Henry also release a next book
And your stupid donkey point is?
(smh!)
What? Must we always be contrary/negative? If I am not mistaken, the comments here are supposed to be chiefly congratulatory–not a debate/comparison/destructive criticism.
I say, “Hats off!” to the Fabien ‘quartet’ of remarkable women! Your stories/words have rekindled in me a deep sense of nostalgia! Can hardly wait to read more of your work!
Perhaps you could feature an asinine character (jenny or jack) in your next collection of stories!!
Good going ladies!!!! Congrats!!! Positive vibes! I’ll have me a read in time!!!
