Darroux said government will invest in several areas of infrastructure development

Parliamentary Representative for the St. Joseph Constituency, Honourable Kelver Darroux has announced plans for major developments in his constituency.

Darroux has stated that moving forward, the Dominica Labour party Administration will continue to invest heavily in the areas of infrastructure development, agriculture, disaster mitigation and water.

“We will witness the implementation of a $4.5 million water project for Belles and Penrice with 30,000-gallon and 45,000-gallon tanks respectively; the construction of a community – hurricane shelter for Layou is now at an advanced stage with a loan from the CDB; provision of land for young farmers and the opening of the abattoir in Layou Valley; complete rehabilitation of road from Hillsborough Bridge to York Valley-$30 million; new bridge at Glo Cho – $7 million; complete rehabilitation of the Mero/Cuba Road, the Carholm Road, the Atley and Crown Road and the Petite Macousherie Road,” Darroux stated.

Government will also concentrate on the development of sports in the constituency as well as housing development.

“New houses to be constructed throughout the constituency; development of the Belles, Mero and St. Joseph playing fields; improvements to the basketball court in St. Joseph to include washroom facilities; resource Centre for the community of Belles; development of a playground for St. Joseph; training of persons in various skill development programmes; proper storm drains on the St. Joseph highway leading down to the Health Centre,” Darroux noted.

Over the years the DLP administration has brought tangible development to the communities in the St. Joseph Constituency through improvements in health and social services, education, sports, agriculture, culture, small business development, housing, and tourism.

Who do you all think you fooling. You all just had a convention in St. Joe where you of all people had the opportunity to speak. Did you forgot your notes or did you forgot to remember to say that. I’m real tired of your political gimmicks now. You all making me sick. I man from St. Joe and I will never support you with this corrupt government. If the head is sick then so is the body. What ever happened to the promised project at Layou park again?
Boss we don’t forget so get ready and start parking. Out. Nous par sout. Do you understand what it takes to do just one project that you mentioned? Never mind all those combined. Stop telling lies.

So Kelyar had to wait until Team Dominica come to St. Joe on Sunday to make those promises? Too little too late. Monelle will be a better Parl Rep. Team Dominica all the way. There will be a lot of surprises. You may think my family and I voting for labour in St. Joe but all of us voting UWP next election. Prepare for your defeat. Make your reservations to migrate to the US.

The UWP wants to create a utopia in st.joseph which is just not practical. they held that sit for 10 years with a horrible result, sports and culture was in a mess, the roads was in a deplorable condition, everything is certainly not well in st.joseph at the end of the day i would much rather supporti a party that seem to have a clare path to development than putting my support behind someone who has no support from their party.

I just hate to be part of these kinds of discussion but how long can I remain quiet?

The problem is that it is close to election and the men and women of governments are making promises to the people of their constituencies-yes, there is nothing wrong with that.

But why wait until it is close to election to make those promises, and whose fault is it?

I am saying that this fault is our fault and why do I say that? Because we need to be “active” in our community for the sake of its development–that is the reason for village councils, teachers’ association, youth groups, sports group, leisure and entertainment groups– and I am including even the churches of our community.

And if right after election with all of those promises from our member of parliament, we continue to work in our community on behalf of its image and the welfare fo its people–to continue to be at the member of parliament who promised us this, that, and the other thing–while we ourselves are doing some production on our own.

And if those men and woman of parliament–our representative–do not keep their promise before the end of the term that we voted them in , then they will know that they on their way out at the next vote–perhaps they would either not make those promises–or they will keep them.

But what do we do? We sit indolently in our communities–we are nothing more but trouble makers–we don’t participate in the functions and active works on behalf of development there.

And yet we are the ones who are saying–I don’t believe you this; I don’t believe you that; and I don’t believe you the other. How can we believe when we don’t have a mind with the sense of concrete production and growth–we don’t realize that we are the ones breaking down the visions of our leaders–because we show them no trust and we have no hope in the work the want to do on our behalf.

Once again I am saying that our slow development in Dominica is because of our “sluggish attitude”; and the younger we are the worst it is–there are things to do but
“everybody” says it is the work of “somebody”; “anybody” can take the lead, but “nobody” cares– not even if all or “everyone” will suffer the consequences.

Leadership must be rooted–meaning that this role must come from the base. In our case it is the villages–if we do not care about being “active” for the sake of our own home–how can our country ever know development.

The men and women of governments are just a few people–they need the build ups from us, the people, and not the stupidity of Skerro, Lennox, “laborites”, “upwites”, “blueites” and “redites” and all the foolishness of “ites’ which I am reading here on a daily basis–gush man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A promise is a comfort to a fool. People will promise so much of what they can’t give. The only true one we can put our trust in is Jesus. Man will promise u the world. Jesus will promise u life eternal. St. Joe rep. please go back to the Lord. Remember the bible says what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul. Remember politics is a dirty tricks. You should not get yourself involve in this mess. Remember we are living in the last days of earth history. People on the flip side of the coin let us stop hating one another. It makes my heart sad when I see the nasty things we say to each other. Beloveth let us love one another for love is of god he that loveth not knoweth not God. 1 john 4:7 and 8. How can we sleep at night after all this drama? Tell me. I love u my family. Let us pray more as a nation that God will continue to bless our peacefulparadise. Pleas Please do turn it into a political paradise. Jah guide peace and blessing.

@ forgiveness: Politics and Religion can’t co-exist; don’t use the two in the same sentence or paragraph. There’s nothing God or Jesus can do for the politically ignorant, or against politically driven idiots. Politics is not a morale, spiritual or fair playing ground, it is a venom to the poor and less fortunate.

You see, by now everybody in Dominica recognizes a dangling carrot when they see one; and this dangling carrot is no more an attraction for the dumbest half dead rabbit alive! The rabbits have all awaken, that’s what happens when politicians use the same old tactics to fool people.

It has worked for fourteen years plus a little bit, the eyes of the people are opened, and are asking why you had not installed all of these same projects even twelve years into the administration; however, now that the pendulum is swinging into the direct ion of election, you dug up all of the millions of dollars under the sand of the bay in St. Joseph which has given you the spending to create some utopia!

Is not the Government that is the problem is St Joseph people. U have a constituency of people that lack of ambition, creativity and are lazy as hell.Mrs Williams or Mr Darroux can give them nice road , nice buildings, money to develop themselves and they wouldn’t do shit with it. St Joseph has one of the largest population of people who resides overseas and this people not doing shit in their community. Change starts with the people. Are these people serious? We have long been the poorest community on the Island, we have been forgotten for years and all of a sudden our P Rep trying to cram something down our throats. To block our eyes and play with our minds because election is just around the corner? Isn’t this a little to late? We are tired and won’t be fooled any more.. All these plans you all have , please hand them over along with the money for these projects to the incoming government.

Promises and more promises every four and a half years. It’s just not fair. We have struggled for the pass four years and we deserve and demand much more than just empty promises.

Who will leave Monnel and vote for a Skerrit Puppet? Shame on you young man. Why can’t you go bury your LONG HEAD under some dumper loads of sand? You really expected St Joseph to thrive under a Skerrit led Labour Party? Based on your upbringing i really don’t know why you teamed up with this type of party and these type of ministers.
Anyway you are just a Skerrit puppet and little boy. You are a joke compared tho the Monnel i herard on Sunday night. OH MY GOOD GOD, THIS YOUNG LADY IS INSPIRING!
    HOW LONG?
    NOT LONG!

    St. Joseph playing fields; improvements to the basketball court in St. Joseph to include wash room facilities; resource Centre for the community of Belles; development of a playground for St. Joseph;

MR Darroux always banging on about asking people what contribution they made to their community before they join politics – he has prized himself on being an active sports member of the community and is AFTER DONKEY YEARS IN PARLIAMENT HE FINDING TO COME AND TALK ABOUT FIXING THE SAME PLAYING GROUNDS HE CLAIMS TO HAVE BEEN MINGLING ON WITH THE YOUTHS?.

Anyway, better late than never and I suppose better threatened into action than no action at all. SMH with the inadequacies of that man!
