On Friday December 16, 2011, O.D. Brisbane & Sons made its annual Christmas donations to eight charitable organizations from around the island. The organizations chosen were REACH, Grotto Home, Dominica Infirmary, Alpha Centre, Care of the Elderly, Grange Home, Operation Youth Quake and St. Vincent de Paul.

Each was given a variety of grocery items including a ham and turkey, valuing over $ 3,000.

Every month, O.D. Brisbane & Sons has given groceries to these charities going back a few years.

O.D. Brisbane, in keeping with its corporate policy of caring and sharing by giving back to the community, recognized 2011 as “The Year of the Youth.” From the beginning of the year to mid-December 2011, customers who shopped at Brizee’s Mart and spend $100 received a Brizee’s Mart dollar to place in the Year of the Youth fund and $1.00.

The accumulated earnings from the Year of the Youth promotion will go towards a youth affiliated project.

I have shown you in every way,by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said “It is more blessing to give than to received” Acts 20:35
