Petite Savanne water project timely – Darroux

Darroux

Parliamentary Representative for the Petite Savanne constituency Dr Kenneth Darroux said the commissioning of a $ 1.5-million water project is timely.

The long-awaited completion of the new water system was officially commissioned on Friday.

Darroux said, the project which is funded by Basic Needs Trust Fund and DOWASCO, will significantly improve the lives of the people of that community.

“For the first time in over 20 years, we can now boast of a reliable water supply. It has been well over 20 years since the residence have been experiencing difficulties with an antiquated water system. Sometimes portable water could not be available for sometimes days and many residents would have to resort to fetching water in nearby streams and rivers,” he said.

Darroux said this posed serious difficulties as it relates to domestic chores and personal hygiene.

When people are not for somebody they try to find so many different ways to bring that person down. Especially Petite Savanne people. They never support their own that’s why we will never progress. Maybe that’s why Baron did things for the rest of his constituency and not for us. STOP trying to bring down your own. That person who’s talking I guess y’all are not from Galba and Rogiste cause that’s who had to go without water for days and some. Wake up and smell the coffee. Give the man props for what hes doing. We have to crawl before we walk and at least we’re seeing progress.

Did I say that? My words were “it’s not adequate” and I stand by that! I know that Rome was not built in a day, but what has Petite Savanne gotten over the past 15 or so years that we can boast of? We deserve a whole lot more.

It’s not adequate because the resource center will benifit you better right? Dr have just came in and he’s already representing… tell that to Baron cause he’s the one who never did it…. At least he’s trying… some of us are just too selfish… I bet there’s other places that can be used for such things. I don’t see why the young people have to go all the way to bagatelle to practice and play sports,

      @ T-Savanne

……..and just how is Dr Darroux to blame for Petite Savanne not receiving anything for the past 15 years? please explain.

……….and yes we deserve a whole lot more that”s why we voted Dr Darroux, so that he will try his best to bring all that we deserve to the Petite savanne and the wider constituency by extension and we have already started to see results, after just over a year in office…………………fool!!

While this is all good and welcomed in the village, I hope that some credit was given to Urban Baron. Remember it all started under his representation (I was not in attendance so I’m not sure if he got credit).

Now Dr. Darroux, where is the much needed community/resource center? A playing field is not adequate for the villagers. We (those of us who can no longer participate in sporting activities) need a place to recreate also. We need to keep our cultural dances alive and therefore need that community center for that purpose etc. Stop renting office space to house the village council.

      April 11, 2011

What are u trying to say? Because you can’t use the playing field it’s not needed in the community? SMH Rome wasn’t built in a day it’s one at a time…. Just thank the man and let’s see what happens next

        April 11, 2011

i am in agreement with u hmmmmm, Rome was not built in a day and this is just a start of what Dr Darroux has to do for his constituency. Baron was there for so long and he never did anything of such for the community, so i’m not even sure what this person “T-savanne” is about. the only thing he did is hold the petite savanne constituency as a sure seat for the Dominica Labor Party. Way to go Dr. Darroux it was about time, we need an active pal rep. like you.
