Vieille Case MP outlines plans for constituency

Skerrit spoke at the Vieille Case Village Council inauguration

Parliamentary Representative of the Vieille Case Constituency, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has highlighted a number of plans for the constituency by his government.

A road reconstruction and construction program, the eradication of pit latrines and lighting of the playing field all form part of these plans.

Skerrit was addressing the Vielle Case Village Council Inauguration on Monday.

“We have launched the completion of a very ambitious reconstruction and construction program and I believe we have one road left to resurface in this entire village, that is the road to the Church of Christ,” he said. “The funds are in place for that, the council has the funds and we have directed them work with a particular contractor to start this works.”

He stated further that funds have also been approved for the reconstruction of the road from Gomier back to Thibaud.

“I also set aside the resources for the construction of a new Health Centre,” Skerrit noted.

According to him, the government is engaged with an architectural firm for the Health Center.

“We will start that new Health Centre on a new location,” he revealed. “You will have the opportunity where the ambulance can drive up the main road and come to pick up the patients from time to time.”

He said funds have already been put aside for the construction of a resource centre in the constituency.

“Funds have been set aside for the resource centre,” he stated. “That resource centre will be named after my former Parliamentary friend, Mr Alexis Williams. The architectural firm is designing this, we have lands we purchased few years ago right in the vicinity of the police station…”

He said also that the council has resources to eradicate completely pit latrines in this village.

“They have the funds in the account to build the rest of washrooms for the entire village…,” Skerrit revealed. “I have provided from the government resources to every village council to eradicate pit latrines entirely in this Vielle Case Constituency and if they work deligently we can achieve this by June of 2017.”

He revealed further that contracts have been signed for the lighting of the playing field, “and we hoping we can start the erection of the light fixtures.”

“The fixtures are in Dominica and we can start the erection of the light fixtures in very short time,” Skerrit stated.

The Dominican Prime Minister, known to many as the Supreme Leader and Ordained Knight of the Holy Roman Catholic Church, has once again seen it fit to bless his captive audience and ardent supporters with a tidbit of information about his Christ-like generosity. Using Dominica’s tax, vat and passport revenues, this owner of the Dominican plantation can freely play Santa Claus to those who enable him to rule as a Supreme King over their lives and everyday affairs. With a Hard Court here and a Health Center there, our dear Honorary Doctor can win the hearts and souls of many Dominicans who consider the Government’s duty as a generous gift coming from the kind heart of “One Man”! They honor this great Supreme con man and view him as a god! They hang on to his every word and repeat them on radio stations and during political conversations like they are quoting directly from the Bible. We have been bearing witness for a number of years to the rise of the Occult!

Up to now, Lennox can’t tell you about what he has planned for his community. If he was smart, he would invite his so call investors come and invest in Marigot. Let the rest of Dominica see that he means business. I’m just asking for Linton to create a name for himself, let the people see that despite how the Government may grudge this little Blue spot, it is more developed and thriving than the rest of Dominica.

The Castle Bruce and San Sauveur roads need Resurfacing too, they are deplorable.

    January 10, 2017

Are Dominicans listening and take note? First he said the only road in Vielle case that remains to resurface is the road leading to the Church of Christ. But, he said he has given the council the money and told them which contractor to give the job to. So no accountability as the council’s job is only to pass on the money but he Skerrit I suppose has interviewed and approve his contractor and Swallow must shut up! So if the the contract is worth $5,000k and he through the council pays his contractor $50,000, where does the balance go to? So Swallow, even if you could get a contractor to build it better and for less so the extra could go to the council, u boss has already cut that off boy! But concerning the rest of the toilets @ $11,000 each he said council already has money to finish them. He forgotto say that he has his contractors to build them as well and the job of the council is only to receive and pass the money to make it look transparent. Boy Swallow mad! Good 4 u Swallow!

This is just pure madness!!!! Wake up people. Bon dieu, those Dominica’s that think this man is doing such a great job are so pathetic. Some really good points brought up except the ones highlighted in pink. DNO there you go again, showing who’s side you’re on. SAD!!!!

It really angers me to hear Skerrit, the one man government boast about 17 roads in Vielle case are built, except one. Shouldn’t that declaration anger other MP’s and villagers particularly where labor won? I mean Paix bouche for example is just another landslide away from a disaster and Paix Bouche will be cut off from Dominica. It’s been like this before Erika and not one thing they have done to build a wall! Furthermore the road that connects Paix bouche with the Bleheim road is a disaster. In fact that road is in the face of Hon. Roslyn Paul as her house is almost built on it and yet, not even for her sake will Skerrit fix that road. But instead she was there clapping when Skerrit boasted about his 17 roads. Go to Portsmouth, and the town roads are a war zone and so is Cottage, mahauult, roads

  10. CBI Funds at $250 million a year
    January 10, 2017

The CBI program can only do so much. The program brings in a mere $250 million a year. After government fees (around $10 million a month), the balance of the money is spent on paying public servant salaries, rebuilding schools, etc.. .

The PM is doing a great job for his constituency and our country.

Boy to hear Skerrit talk and be on the ground to see what’s actually happening is quite fascinating. Skerrit has the guts to tell Dominicans about irradiçating pit laterine in Vielle case? Earlier this week he said each flushing toilet cost the government $11,000 and to my surprise the media did not question him. Folks it is a fact that Skerrit took my passport money to build toilets for his friends but can I go to these toilets when I want to peepee or poopoo? My money paid for them! Have u realized that in his fight against pit toilet, after 17 years in power he has not built one public facility so the general public could run to. Not one in Vielle case! The man knows if he can build 200 pit toilets in every village he guarantees 200 votes to stay in power and to hell with the community and country! Also, it is a fact that many of the houses he built and put toilets in are emptyas Vielle case is empty.

Vielle Case is one small community with a declining population yet their Health Centre gets priority over a hospital that serves the communities of Marigot, Wesley, Woodford Hill, Calibishie, Atkinson and the Carib Territory. Margre Sa.

Yoland, you and Skerrit should be ashamed of yourselves in this statement: “We have a lot of farmlands. Vielle Case used to be one of the keen producers of vegetables,” he stated. See what I mean. I believe that you have been very critical of Skerrit as a failure, one who has failed the people of Vielle Case. So, is it true, nous ka Twavay…….or nou ka Voleur? Shameful, disgusting.
Not too long ago I visited Vielle Case, Thibaud and Penville, and the state of these villages is sickening and shameful on Skerrit. …and you too. Your guys are disgusting.

CBS it appears wanted someone who would embarrass himself and country and who was willing to do a hatchet job on our CBI program. They found one. Our PM promotes Dominica and Dominicans always in the best possible way each and every time. That is not what the broadcast was all about.

Good job PM and Member for the Vielle Case Constituency represent your Constituency. I recall when in a budget address it was said that the government wanted to get rid of all pit latrines island wide.

The opposition ignored most of the budget address because I guess the did not know better and called it a pit latrine budget. They just could not see the need. People who are truly out of touch of the needs of the people they say they want to represent.

Today they criticize on international media our CBI.

Skerritt I’m glad for the people of Vielle Case that their lives and their community are being improved, however I must ask you what about productive communities like Salisbury and Marigot. These two communities had the most progressive farmers on island and you by your vindictiveness, have not assisted them to make a greater contribution to their communities and their families.Recently you gave over $100,000 to a youth group in your constituency, without them having any solid bankable plan.$100,000 in any currency is a lot of money,so it is short sighted and stupid to not give $100,000 to farmers in the progressive agricultural communities but to a few ambitious youth. You are Prime Minister of all of Dominica but have failed to show you understand that and to take care of other people’s needs who can really help the country grow.

The man has been representing the people of Vielle Case for approximately sixteen years, apart from building a fancy home for himself in the constituency, what significant development has he done for the people of Vielle case. Now he is under pressure and could loose the next election, according to a local saying, he is going back to mama. Has he visited the village of Thibau in the last two years, I don’t think so, if he did, either he is blind or he is taking the people of that poor village for granted.

    Dear Prime Minister,

I am still wondering what’s in store for Grand Bay, your most loyal followers? What has Justina Charles gotten in return for her blinded support, and as a member of your cabinet? Can you please explain to your Grand Bay followers Sir?
    Thank You!

  26. “I also set aside the resources for the construction of a new Health Centre,” Skerrit noted.

Well if there are any doubts in the mind of the nation that Roosevelt Skerrit is a dictator; a one man government “I also set aside resources.” Not the government set aside resources, nonetheless he Skerrit personally set aside his own resources!

You are about to build a new Health Center, in your village, but what about the Marigot Hospital you Skerrit allowed to become infested with rodents, termites, mold, and allowed to be eaten to the ground termites?

How come you are eradicating pit hole toilets in your village and the Carib reserve, and not through out the entire country?

They are all over the island, which fumes when emitted on a hot day burns through the nostrils of our citizens!

Francisco it is obvious you have no clue of the things you type!!!!! You do not live on island and is clueless of the good things this Labour Party Government have been doing!!!! And for the record we are not afraid of Skerrit being called a Dictator, that’s alright!!! Funny enough the only people who do not want us to talk is the Blue party people… Once someone say they love Skerrit all hell breaks loose, i wonder who is the real dictators of the land!!!!

Just for your information the Pit toilet eradication is a NATIONAL PROGRAM and is ongoing throughout the island!!!!! And we do not have any pit toilet spoiling the air on a hot day, not sure where you have been for the last 17 years!!!!!!

      • Guy, my life is not perfect, but I know the difference between suffering, and living; enjoying life. I know the difference between a bandage on a sore, and a cure to heal an open sore.

Skerrit gives you a bandage, and you believe your wound is heal; but if you look carefully you will discover, Skerrit’s bandage only cause the sore to fester even more!

What you are seeing as good coming from Skerrit, to many of us that is not even a bandage on a wound! You are accustomed to live in a backward state, so you are unable to discern that with Skerrit, you shall remain stagnant forever. This man in the twenty-first century is talking about “he” is going to eradicate pit hole toilet in his village: at whose expense may I ask?

Don’t you think if your were living a productive life; have a job, and earning a pay cheque, you would not have to depend on Skerrit to give you a toilet, preventing you from handing over a pit hole when you want to defecate? Your ambition would lead you…

      • Continue:

Your ambition would lead you to decide your standard of living. What Skerrit is giving to you is something you should be able to give to yourself. If you say the program is nation wide, only a fool would not know that the nations dependency is on Skerrit; not even the government. If there was employment in the country, you would not be sitting waiting for a handout from government to give you a toilet to defecate into!

And as for the nonsense you spew about I do not live in Dominica, you need to know that many of us who live in the Diaspora knows more about Dominica, than many of you living there who never set foot out of Dominica; so, you are contented with what you have believing you are living in heaven, while you are living hell. Skerrit can give you life for that matter, but if there are no industries, no jobs, you are better off dead, because your destiny depends on Skerrit handouts!

It never ceases to amaze me that people become so blinded and partizan that they cannot see injustice happening to them or right before them.
This government has turned its supporters into salivating puppies who will turn on brothers to protect the crumbs that are thrown their way. I really wish people would read more about past dictators to understand what a sham of Government they really have.
Intelligence levels clearly drop when people are starving, this Government is divisive and an embarassment to a nation who were the first to have a black leadership post slavery. If Colombus came back he would see not much has changed and move on as he did before

    • January 10, 2017

He doesnt even talk like a politician anymore, he talks like he is spending his own money. The hotels are to be built with their money – doesnt matter if it comes from selling the nations passports.
Dominicans are so passive about this it is embarassing – new hotel talk again but no new hospital, roads or airport. If they cant see that these people are lining their own pockets to the detriment of the average Dominican then they are their own worst enemy.

Reasoning Eddison James is wrong not to have looked after his constituency when he was given the opportunity to be PM, maybe it is because he don’t live in the community, and Lennox won’t either because like Eddo he to don’t live in the community… YET STILL MARIGOT PEOPLE BLINDLY FOLLOW THEM what a shame!!!!!

Skerrit is on the right path, take care of your people that’s where your home is…. BTW Reasoning, have you seen the improvement to the road to Marigot?? A new hospital is in the works for Marigot do you know that? Eddo was never interested in building a hospital for the people because his St.aroma home is less than 5 minutes away from PMH. LEAVE SKERRO ALONE BOSS ALL YOU TOO HATING!!!!!
