World’s largest full-rigged vessel coming to Dominica

The Royal Clipper

Dominica will be one of the ports of calls as the world’s largest full-rigged ship makes a cruise through the Caribbean.

The Royal Clipper will be sailing out of Indianapolis in the US, to Barbados, from March 31 to April 7.

Along the way the ship will make stops in Dominica, Martinique and St. Lucia.

Guests on the cruise are given the opportunity to put on the first-mate cap and help with hoisting the sails or hang out with the captain on the bridge or even climb the mast and serve as lookout.

Organizers of the cruise say the ship is luxurious, comfortable and roomy with a limit of 90 cabins and it’s very safe. “They are very, very strict about drills,” Othmar Grueninger, one of the main organizers, said. “You are shown where the life jackets are and the proper way to put them on and the same boats you use to disembark to tour the islands or visit the beach, are also the lifeboats. So everyone knows exactly what the lifeboat situation is.”

The Royal Clipper was built by a Swiss millionaire. It has 19,000 square feet of open deck, 42 sails and include luxuries such as three swimming pools, state-of-the-art navigation systems, a spa and health club with underwater portholes.

Do you mean Annapolis? Because Indianapolis isn’t a port city, it’s not even on a major river let alone a coast.

You asking Papa God to bless our PM in the AM and/or in the PM? Poverty is on the rise. Unemployment is on the increase. How much pray we praying and corruption continue to plague our nation? Dominica importing vegetables from US, while farmers’ produce cannot be marketed? rural folks facing hell. No blessings for those hard-working people, too?

Investigations into two heinous firebombing acts going nowhere after 1 year plus? no prayers to hasten those investigations? Bless for sales of more diplomatic passports without seeing the dollars? All those prayers and blessings you are asking for are not being heard, man? Tourism will improve ten-fold with the arrival of that full-rigged vessel?
