Beau Bois Pre-School celebrates ten years

Staff and students of the school

On January 16th 2003, in a quiet little area called Beau Bois, Doreen John began utilizing her qualifications and skills as an educator to help develop and build young minds for the future.

Ten years later the Beau Bois Pre-School has not only grown but flourished.

John’s aim was to create a unique space in the pre-school arena so she took in small numbers of pre-school children with the aim of fostering a high quality learning environment.

After thirty-four years in the field of education John’s calm, professional demeanor has earned her the loyalties of not just parents but students alike.

Her ability to focus on the development and well-being of the young children entrusted to her on a daily basis at Beau Bois Pre-School has brought popularity for the school and its Founder.

From humble beginnings in one of her bedrooms with 10 students, the school has expanded and now houses three classrooms, an office and an eating area.  With encouragement from the first parents of the Beau Bois Pre-School, John has guided the school from strength to strength.

Ten years ago the first students were:

Derick Davis
Dominique Jno-Phillip
Damian Larocque
Donna Ferreira
D’Aundre Dequental
Ronald Charles Jnr.
Donnel Ghita
Jyrene George
Hannah Dodds
Jyana Seaman

Ms John taught my son at another pre-school and currently my granddaughter is a student at her institution – she just loves the kids like they are her very own. Thanks Ms John, may God continue to shower you with love, grace and new mercies every day as you fashion the minds of these young ones!!! Kuddos!!!

That is what I call doing a gift of seevice from God, I can imagine that Doreen woke with a sense of fulfillment, knowing what her job was for the day, right into these 10 years.

Those children look so blessed with God’s love, who can say that He is not among them, as He guides Doreen and her helpers to do this blessed work with children, whom He loves so dearly.

By the way Beau Bois is in my mind, but I cannot remember if it is that place that is some distance before Gomier, on the way to Giraudel. Can someone please enlighten my memory?

I have really been gone for too long, and I pray that God preparing to take me back home soon, where He can continue the work He is doing through me.

@Looking in January 18, 2013 “Beau Bios is an area above Castle Comfort/ Wall House on your way to Giraudel. Very nice area”.

Thanks to you for that information, above! I had it my mind, that was the location, especially that when I was in Dominica in 2008, we were using that route to Roseau from Giraudel–but I wasn’t sure–I have been gone for so long.

Now it is clear again in my mind, this time I won’t forget.

By the way I do not see the reason for the thumbs down to those people who ask–some of us really have a foolish mentality.

My daughter Mekhai went to school there and Mrs John even went further and welcomed and cared for her in her home in the afternoons until I was able to pick her up from work. It was always a warm loving learning environment. I will always remember her and the care she took of my child. My daughter is excelling in the US now because of the foundation that was laid down by Mrs. John. Congrats to the school on ten years…wishing them many more fruitful years!!!!!!

The school is in Beau Bois, on the flat past Mac Millan Gas Station, in the Courts Warehouse Area. The other area referred to on the way to Giraudel is not Beau Bois but is referred to as Beau Bois Gillion, which is a totally different area.
