CHS celebrates right to life

Students of CHS

A special assembly to remind students of the importance of the right to life was celebrated at the Convent High School (CHS) on Wednesday morning.

Leandra Lander, teacher at the establishment, said the assembly was the school’s way of showing their support to the right to life campaign. “Every year we work with the Social Justice Committee, it is a ceremony held to help us recognize and reflect on the sanctity of life in all different aspects not just abortions but also murder and bullying,” she explained.

Lander added that the day was dubbed “Green Day” and this is the seventh year that the school is staging the special assembly.

“We have young women here who need to understand that they need to respect their bodies and that they are women on a purpose for God,” Lander further pointed out.

She added further that the assembly was the school’s contribution to Right to Life Week since the students are aware that prayer is an essential aspect the campaign.

Lander stated that she hopes the assembly gives the students the opportunity to understand the responsibility they have in respecting life.

The assembly was organized by Lander, Andrea Seaman, Father Franklyn Cuffy and the staff and students of the school.

Calypsonians Sherian “Electra” Letang and Derrick “D Hunter” St. Rose also performed as part of the activities.

Yeah! Love it… This is what it is all about… I pray that this message resounds throughout our dear country and amoung our young women everywhere…

It is a shame to see what is now acceptable among our youth… Women dressing scandalously so openly… Values of morals and decency -Quite Gone!

We need to teach our ladies to be ladies in everything they do…

As Christian women, we should ask ourselves, am I giving glory to God in the way I carry out myself? Do I value what God has created?

Am I serving Christ in my attittude?

Am I loving, kind, patient? Do I please Christ in my relationships?

Good job Convent High School and good job Leandra… I am pleased with my alma mater

Great sermons and biblical truths on many of life issues:

I recall having to sit through the video on abortion in the auditorium. Me oh My, what a compelling thing. CHS has been doing this for years and I’m elated to see the education continues.
