On May 5 the Dominica Red Cross Club 25 Youth Group embarked on its first annual Picture Scavenger Hunt.

The event was held as a start up of World Red Cross Day observances.

Organizers say the purpose of the hunt was to promote team work, cooperation and fun.

Proceeds from the event are expected to fund the attendance of five youth members to attend a youth camp hosted by the St. Lucia Red Cross.

Eight teams of five participants took part in the event which consisted of each team receiving the rules and regulations and a list of 20 wild and wacky things to scavenge for their team judges, each having a point system.

They then ventured out to down town Roseau to do the hunt.

Under the theme “Youth on the Move – Doing More, Doing Better, Reaching Further” members of the club demonstrated their leadership skills in guiding the participants through their paces.

Team Wacky from Wacky Rollers emerged as winners in the fiercely competitive hunt with 292 points. The team recieved the following prizes:

Prize 1 – Blackberry Phone
Prize 2 – Citizen Watch
Prize 3 – 2 Zip Line Passes / Samsung Touch Screen Phone
Prize 4 – Prima Donna $80 Gift Certificate/ 1 Whale Watching trip/ $100 Digicel Top Up / Glam Relax Massage
Prize 5 – Gift Certificate from Pirates ($500 Gift Certificate) / Tranquil Haven Relax Massage Certificate
