Two communities in Dominica will soon reap benefits from the “Shat Out Violence” song competition held here recently.

Acting Chief Youth Development Officer Colbert Pinard made the disclosure in an interview with DNO.

Pinard explained that the Youth Division is in the process of exploring music programs in the North Eastern and Southern Districts of the island.

‘The recent Shat out Violence Competition was evaluated and we are now exploring music programs in the north east and the south,” he revealed. “One room at the Grand Bay Youth Centre will be modified into a music room so recording can be done there.”

Pinard stated further that the three top winners of the competition will have their music videos placed on media giant Youtube. “We will be broadcasting their videos on Youtube,” he said.

Meantime Pinard said the Youth Division has introduced four new modules to its program in October. “Arc welding begun in October in Jimmit, with a total of  eleven participants, computer maintenance in Roseau with 14 participants and Marigot started building maintenance with 12 participants,” he said.

Furniture repair will also be introduced to the inmates of the Dominica State Prison soon, Pinard stated.
