Dominicans participate in UWI Open Campus Ceremony in St. Kitts & Nevis

On Saturday October 8, 2016, twelve (12) of the forty-three (43) Dominican graduates of the Class of 2016 of University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Dominica attended the institution’s 8th Presentation of Graduates Ceremony at the St. Kitts Mariott in Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis.

All twelve students were awarded Undergraduate Degrees.

Ms. Cedella Popo (BSc Banking & Finance), Mrs. Andrea Seaman-Williams (BSc Youth Development Work) and Ms. Sharnon Victor (BSc Banking & Finance) graduated with First Class Honours.

The graduates celebrated their achievements in the presence of Heads of State and Government officials of the English-speaking Caribbean, the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor, members of the University’s Executive Management, other highly placed University and government officials, as well as their family and friends.

The other Dominican graduates at the Ceremony were as follows:

Mr. Kerwin Luke (BEd Mathematics)
Ms. Lucia Matthew (BSc Management Studies)
Ms. Kishyan Pacquette (BSc Management Studies)
Ms. Sharlene Polydore (BSc Banking & Finance)
Mr. Dwight Timothy (BSc Banking & Finance)
Ms. Venetta Toussaint (BSc Accounting)
Mrs. Diane Victor (BEd Early Childhood Education & Family Studies)

Six hundred and ninety-eight students (593 undergraduates and 105 post graduates) officially formed part of the Open Campus’ Class of 2016.

The UWI Open Campus is the youngest campus of the 65-year-old University of the West Indies and was formally launched in Antigua & Barbuda in June 2008.

The UWI Open Campus offers multi-mode teaching and learning services through virtual and physical site locations across the Caribbean region. There are currently 44 site locations of the Open Campus in the English-speaking Caribbean.

    Congrats to all. We know that traveling to the Ceremony can be expensive, but it is such a wonderful experience to meet people who work with for years in person at last. All the best to these graduates. It is good to see three gentlemen here (there are years when it is one or none)!
