Dr. Peters ready to “fix” issues at DSC

Dr. Peters

President of the Dominica State College (DSC) Dr. Donald Peters says governance and lack of equipment are current issues facing the learning institution, but he is ready to have them rectified.

Peters says his aim is to ensure that the DSC is placed at the center of high education on the island.

“We want to ensure that you know that we are there and we want to ensure that we are at the center of high education activity in the country. We want to create access to every Dominican seeking higher education and provide programs that help people make money,” he said.

He said management is also seeking to help solve the “insurmountable” issues affecting the State College.

“There are issues … governance is an issue … enough faculty, equipment … but I can fix those. The students are wonderful people and they want to learn. In higher education you never worry about the problem, you just fix them and that is what I am about to do,” he added.

Image is everything in higher education. You should know that DSC staff, and if Dr Peters has done anything in his past that can come back and negatively affect the DSC and its image internationally and regionally that would be bad.

The issue at the DSC is the blatant disregard for the DSC by the government of Dominica who continues to underfund the DSC. Most of the staff is committed and hard working with or without Dr.Peters the DSC will rise to the next level. What is it with the Government who insists on saddling the DSCwith individuals whose sole desire is to be in the press as often as possible?

I will tell you what he dis absolutely nothing but talk. As a matter of fact for half the time he was president of DSC he was in charge of reunion and spent all his time at the financial center. What a way to run a college. It seems the less you do the more you are recognized and the more you do the less you are recognized

Get something constructive to do with your time as Mr.Peter has gotten something to occupy him from reading such trash. A past doesn't determine your destiny, as Mr.Peter has acomplished well enough in his past to relax now, it is up to u all if you don't want a College to learn higher education, guess you were one of those drop outs. lol

Why does Dr Peter Continue to embarass the people of Dominica with his ill advised, poorly thought utterances? He did the same as ceo of WICB, creating a laughing stock of the board by these same utterances. He has started at an institution of higher learning with the same folly. Unfortunately, his best asset is keeping his mouth shut and stop spurning ignorant utterances.

So what did the last President Mr. Charles do to fix all these problems that the Doc now have to come and fix. And to make matters worse. The former president was promoted to Amb. status for a job well done

Dr. Peters, you have a long, hard road ahead of you to remedy the problems that plague the DSC. However, as a lecturer at the DSC I believe you are capable and the majority of the staff is in full support of your efforts. Looking forward to working together to improve the college!
