The Stock Farm campus of the Dominica State College (DSC) is now cleaner thanks to the efforts of the DSC College Ambassadors.
Last week they organized a “Keep Our Campus Clean” day and with the help of volunteer students and faculty advisers Taihisa Hill and Joel Challenger, spent the day picking up trash, bagging them, pulling out shrubs and cleaning all of the open spaces on the campus, as well as sweeping, mopping and cleaning the windows of the classrooms.
DSC College Ambassadors are a group of student leaders who have an interest in making their college an institution of distinction in the region. They were selected amongst the student body and work with faculty and administration in hosting events, planning activities, and representing the DSC on and off campus.
President of the College, Dr Donald Peters, is enthusiastic about the group. “We welcome the students’ interest and enthusiasm in serving the college community. In today’s world the students who engage in co-curricula activities on campus gain the kind of leadership and organizing skills that gives them an advantage when they join the work force,” he said.
At DSC there are many active student organizations including The Student Government Association, Christian Club, Chess Club, Cosmetology Club, Culventure Club, Journalism Club, and Literary and Debating Society. The Ambassadors aim to work with the various on-campus organizations to help make DSC a better organization.

Love to see this. Great Job guys ! Keep it up.
Mr. Rupert Sorhaindo when he was the principal of the CDCC now DSC use to enjoy the cooperation of the student body as well.
We would engage in painting, cleaning, weeding the grass and cleaning our both campuses – at the back of the DGS and the stockfarm campus.
In those days we never sought fame or glory – we simple did our National Service with pride.
Yes we did! Those are some good memories right there. I will never forget Mr Sorhaindo. We used to have these socials on a friday night and after he would ensure that everyone gets home safely, especially the young ladies on his little bus. Nice man! The student body was very active.
Excellent! Wonderful initiative! Keep it up!
