Still in the spirit of Christmas which is marked by universal giving and sharing, members of the Friendship Crew converge on the southern community of Dubique on Sunday January 1st 2012 for a very memorable activity at the start of the New Year – 2012.
At that activity approximately 40 children (mostly between the ages of three to 10 years old) of Dubique were served refreshments and snacks and presented with toys and items of shoes and clothing.
The activity was described by leader of the group, Mr. Ronald Charles as a sign of the group’s interest in going out beyond themselves and reaching out to the community, particular the disadvantaged ones. It was a sign of their firm belief in the practice of Christianity.
The villagers of Dubique were very welcoming and displayed great appreciation for the generosity of the group.
The Friendship Crew would like to place on record its deep appreciation to the following business interests who partnered with them to make the activity the success that it was. These include Francis Enterprises, Fine Foods Inc., Popeye Ice Cream, Thomas and Archibold Security and of course the members themselves who provided out of their own resources.
This is the second of such presentations that group has been involved with during the Christmas Season. On Saturday December 17th 2012, the group presented a Food Hamper (more like a Truck Hamper) to the Delices-based “House of Hope” fraternity.
