FCCA hosts Christmas Gift Program for underprivileged children

Dominica is once again included in the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Christmas Gift Program for the Caribbean’s underprivileged children for the year 2011.

The Holiday Gift Program was designed to reach out to partners in the destinations, by providing holiday gifts to underprivileged children in foster homes, or institutions where holiday gifts would not ordinarily be possible. Last year (2010), 33 destinations participated in the program, with over 7,000 children receiving holiday gifts.

Items will be brought in to Dominica by crew personnel aboard the MV Caribbean Princess, which is scheduled to berth at the Roseau Ferry Terminal on December 15th. The ceremony will take place at the Public Service Union Building, at 10:00am, where 200 children will benefit.

We are grateful to our local sponsors – Miniya’s 7-11, Hara Agencies, Starrin and Sons Co. Ltd., and Springfield Trading Ltd., for their generous contributions and look forward to their continued support in the future.

Discover Dominica Authority and the Ministry of Tourism thank FCCA for their continued efforts in bringing cheer to underprivileged children throughout the Caribbean, and anticipate continued support in this program, and others in the future.
