The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development on Friday received a donation of 500 exercise books from Fine Foods Inc.

The donation was made to the Southern District School Management Team for use during National Numeracy Week carded for May 11- 15, 2015.

Fine Foods representative, Nardine Benjamin, made the presentation to Principal of the Trafalgar Primary School Doreen Watt at the school on Friday March 27. She pledged her company’s support for worthwhile activities in education and said Fine Foods was happy to contribute to the development of Dominica’s young people.

Learning Support Advisor, Mathematics, in the Ministry of Education, Clement Vital, said the Ministry was grateful for the donation of books, which would assist students to participate fully in numeracy exercises during the week of activities.

National Numeracy Week will give students the opportunity to showcase the work they have being doing in mathematics at their schools.
