Former parliamentarian Elford Henry has commending the efforts of the young people who took part in the Commonwealth Day Youth Parliament this week.
Henry, who has been a member of parliament for the Wesley constituency for over 10 years, says he was surprised at the extent of work that the students had done to prepare for the event.
“I listened to the debate and I was so very impressed. In fact I was even surprised. I am sure all Dominicans will feel that they stand as a great future for Dominica,” he said.
According to Henry, the youth gave him great hope for the country’s future.
“I was happy that the prime minister and other members of government were present to personally encourage them and that struck a very important note,” he said.
Henry said other young person’s should be encouraged to follow the lead of those who participated in the event.
