Grand Fond Primary School hosts drama festival

Students in action

The Grand Fond Primary School held its first ever Drama Festival on Thursday aimed at exposing the talent of students in drama.

The school’s three houses competed in drama pieces based on the theme: ‘Drugs.’

The event was deemed a great success with parents, guardians, secondary school students, youths from the community and the public in general turning up in large numbers at the school to encourage the students.

In attendance also were the coordinator of the drug prevention unit, Jacinta Bannis, Leandra Cuffy, Drug Prevention Officer for the Eastern District and Mrs Turney – Drug Prevention Officer.

All the houses put on a great display of talent and Phillip’s house was judged the winner. 1st runner up position went to Pascal’s house and 2nd runner up position went to George’s house.

Trophies and prizes for the competition were sponsored by Jem Winston of Three Rivers, the Drug Prevention Unit and Leandra Cuffy.

Big up Grand fond primary and the fresh ideas brought about by our sons and sisters who are former student of the Grand Fond School system. That`s giving back to the community in a big way. I suggest we have a BREADFRUIT AND CODFISH” festival. Original, all the way to raise much needed funds for the School.
