NCCU hosts photograph and video competition

NCCU_logoThe National Co-operative Credit Union Limited (NCCU) is organizing a series of creative competitions as part of activities for NCCU Youth Week 2015, which will run from April 20 to 24, 2015 and is an initiative to encourage youth savings.

Young persons, 16 – 25 years old, who enjoy taking photographs and/or making short videos are being invited to use their smart phones, cameras and other devices to creatively capture still and moving images on one or both of the Competition themes– “Wild about Saving” and “the Art of Membership”.

Entries are to be posted on the creator’s Facebook page along with a hashtag (#) provided by NCCU. The deadline for entries is Monday, April 13th, 2015.

The Terms and Conditions and rules for the Amateur Photograph and Video Competition are available at all NCCU Branches and on the NCCU website–http://www.nccudominica.com/Youth-Week/ and Facebook Page—National Co-operative Credit Union Limited. Interested young persons can also call 255-2160 for information.

When choosing the winner and runners up, the judges will be looking for fun, creative and original entries that evoke the best interpretation of the themes.

And the prizes are pretty attractive: 1st prize: $500, 2nd prize: $250 and 3rd prize: $150. Consolation prizes will also be awarded for other outstanding entries.

Primary and high school students are being given the opportunity to be creative as well, and NCCU is working through the schools in its communities on exciting competitions for their students.

NCCU encourages young persons to participate in the competitions and to express their creativity while capturing the essence of the competition themes.

Great initiative by the nccu. I hope many young people participate in this competition. This will provide the opportunity for them to express themselves through art.

However i have one concern. The vieille case branch is raffling a tablet. My questions are :why should a financial institution be involved in a raffle? Where or to whom does the money raised from the raffle go? couldn’t the vieille case branch organize a competition and give the tablet to the prize winner? To me this raffle makes no sense.

BY THE WAY WHY DOES THE VIEILLE CASE BRANCH HAS ITS OWN MARKETING COMMITTEE WHEN MARKETING IS DONE ON A NATIONAL LEVEL FOR ALL THE BRANCHES OF THE NCCU?
