    Dear Friends,

Just wished to correct a typo. The relevant sentence should read, “Indeed, the blog participant is also correct to say that the Registrar is NOT based in Dominica”

To clarify, the Registrar is based in Jamaica.

    Again, kind thanks.

    Dear Friends,

Thanks for all your kind comments and please accept our apologies for any misunderstanding. It is reasonable to voice a concern if you do not understand, and sometimes a second read clarifies. Your feedback is much appreciated. I also thank DNO for broadcasting our Press Releases.

Just to note that the nuance comes in the first paragraph. If the appointment was Dominica specific, it would normally have said UWI Open Campus Dominica. However it says UWI Open Campus which suggests the entire Open Campus. Indeed, the blog participant is also correct to say that the Registrar is based in Dominica.

Meanwhile, thanks for the kind comments. We do appreciate them. Just to assure you also, Dr. Severin is fine and very much at his post at the UWI Open Campus Dominica. With God’s Grace, he has no immediate migration plans.

    Peace and God Bless!

Dr. Severin is still the Head of the Open Campus Dominica Site. Mrs. Ford Warner is the appointed registrar taking the place of Simone Augier in Jamaica.

Dont castiget the reader. I had the same questions thank God he was castigated so I have the answer and do not have to ask. Articles must be written much clearer. Usually DNO news is about local happenings in Dominica and I really thought she was here in Dominica as the registrar. Communication is about the transfer of meaning. Our people do not enjoy reading please encourage them by writing for us to understand.

She is not at UWI Dominica. She is the registrar for all the Open Campus Sites, based in Jamaica.

The comments reflects a lack of clarity in the writing of the article. DNO needs to take note. The article must be written in order to ensure that the readership undertands the message that is being communicated. Failing this reflects poorly on journalism, so by extension, this was a poorly written article!

ADMIN: If it was for Dominica, that would be in the first paragraph. Simple as that. What is so hard to understand?

    • whatever!
