No school on Wednesday

no-schoolThe Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development advises of the closure of all schools on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, due to the approaching weather system.

All students are hereby advised to remain at home.

The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development will continue to monitor the weather system and update the public accordingly.

The system is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains, scattered thunderstorms and strong gusty winds, possibly to tropical storm force across Dominica beginning tonight and continuing into Thursday. Current rainfall projection is between 3 to 6 inches (75 -150mm) with higher amounts in elevated areas. Dangerous seas are also expected with waves near 14 feet.

Both inland and coastal flooding is, therefore, possible.

Mariners and other users of the sea are advised to be extremely cautious and to remain in port.

Persons in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are advised to be extremely vigilant and to exercise caution as flash flooding and strong winds are possible. Persons in vulnerable areas should plan ahead and take all precautionary measures to protect life and property particularly from tonight into Thursday.

Good call. Prevention is better thatn cure, if we are proactive, then Win, Loose, or Draw. We avoid playing Monday Morning Quarter Back. Once beaten twice shy. Stay home, Read a book, Do assignments, Help the Elderly, check on our Neighbours, and lets all be safe. Prayers change things, lets all pray that the Almighty God will spare and protect us from any Harm.
