North East Comprehensive hosts 9th graduation ceremony

The North East Comprehensive held its 9th graduation ceremony on the 25th of June 2015 under the theme “Tomorrow’s success belongs to those who persevere today”. Sixty four (64) students graduated.

This year’s valedictorian, Matika Jno.Pierre, who received prizes for English, Social Studies, Principles of Accounts and Office administration, recalled the fun memories that they ( the class of 2015 ) created but she cautioned students that while one may have fun learning, the purpose of education is not entertainment and therefore students should prepare themselves for hard work .

Devon JohnBaptiste the Salutatorian walked away with prizes for History, English, Principles of Business, EDPM and Information Technology, while Samantha Bazil the Student of the Year, obtained prizes for Mathematics and Human and Social Boiology.

The other students who obtained subject prizes were:
Woodwork – Jean Gabriel
Integrated Science – Brendelle Benjamin
Chemistry – Donelle Roberts
Physics and Geography-  Anderson Cyrille
English A-  Anika Robin
French – Euline Massicott
Agricultural Science – Danny Boland
Physical Education – Jernel Phillip
Food and Nutrition-  Nnaya Nixon
The following students received awards:
Deportment Male-  Devon John Baptiste
Deportment Female – Samantha Bazil
School Spirit & Voulunteerism – Liss George
Volunteerism – Jason Charles
Emotional Intelligence – Raieda Christmas
Most Outstanding Male in Sports-  Ethan Boland
Most Outstanding Female in Sports-  Stelly Martin
Most Outstanding Student Wesley Constituency – Samantha Bazil
Most Outstanding Student Marigot Constituency-  Matika Jno. Pierre
Most Outstanding Student Salybia Constituency-  Anderson Cyrille
Most Outstanding Student Calibishie-  Nnaya Nixon

The feature speaker Ms Valerie Honore encouraged students to break the cycle of dependence on government and empower themselves through entrepreneurship. She went on to remind them that “ greatness could be found within ”

The staff took the opportunity to recognize the Principal and secretary for their dedication and professionalism in the execution of their duties.
